Wegner Junior

Yep I just found my only spyderco knife, it's a wegner junior. I had it put away in a box since I got it about 9 years ago. It had a tiny bit of rust near the hing and I just scratched it off with my fingernail and that knife it good as new. I wish I had the full size wegner too but they stopped mak...

Your best bet would be a Calypso Sr.

That's cool, joe... but I'm baffled why you would create a polished edge, and then rough it up. Wouldn't it work just as well to make it rough in the first splace, and save some time?

My only knife is ats 34 (wegner jr.) and, yes, I find it really hard to sharpen. I can get a small burr... but it seems impossible to get rid of it. Will the white stones of the 204 be enough to get it off, or will I NEED to strop it? Also, I find that it's impossible to get a "Utility" ed...

I just stick one of the stones in the bottom tray of the system and sharpen the tip in a swirly motion, as you would with a bench stone... just be careful not to make the agle to small or you'll start to sharpen the top of the blade (like I did)

Ok... ok... I'll go check out walmart and see how it goes. I know of white lightning for bikes, what type should I use? I know there are a couple different kinds. -map Added: oh... how hot should I use for water to clean it? boiling, or just from the tap, on G-10. Also, I just read about that guy th...

WD-40?

Hold on before you bash it! I know that WD-40 apparently gunks up a lot, and gets dirty... but I only have one knife which I will open and close a lot, and I like how WD-40 can spray accuratly to shoot out dirt. Plus, so far it's worked really smoothly. With that in mind... is WD-40 ok? -map PS: Wha...

Wow! I sure hope my Wegner Jr. lasts me 12 years... especially since they're discontinued.

I can guarantee you'll like the calypso jr... as long as it doesn't develop bladeplay like the one I returned :S But
I've been assured that I just got one of the very few duds

making progress with the 204

Yah, so I've been practising on the 204 Sharpmaker, and I can get an edge sharp enough to shave on both sides of the blade (but only in the flat part, still working on the curve and tip). With this edge, I can slice through cardboard easily, for about 6-7 6" lengths by pushing straight down in ...

Yah, so I just tried sharpening my wegner jr. I could easily get a burr on it with about 7 strokes, then I did about 7 on the other side (step 3), and then began alternating. Then for step 4, the burr seemed to just got away, so I assumed that meant the edge will be razor sharp... but it wasn't. I'm...

Jeff, who did you order it from? Was it a dealer? Cause I live in Canada, and got ripped off big time with conversion, customs, shipping, etc. I can guarantee you'll love it... the only negative things I can think of are that maybe a flat grind would slice a little better, and I would like it if the...

YAY! My wegner Jr. is here!!! It's just great, it locks completely solid when it's open, and is really stiff when closed. The PE sliced through raw steak yesterday without any back and forth motion, it was like butter. It can stab right through cardboard to make handles in seconds, and it feels grea...

As a juggler, I can relate... you see the only full size mirrors in my house are in the bathroom. I'm come pretty close to sinking expensive props in a toilet, and yes, some have fallen in :S

DOH! **hits himself in the head** Yah, I guess I didn't profile the knife yet... and I don't have any of my own knives to sharpen. My step-mom is big into cooking and I'm scared to really mess them up, so I didn't even attempt the 30 degree angle. I'm gonna go find/buy a cheap knife to practice with...
