Tim is running the show over there now, he’s reached out to all modders and makers and has told them to stop putting a hole in his blades.
Hahaha could he actually have done that? Didn't know they were still his once they were sold.

Re: What's your favorite model to OPEN?

Probably my Chinook 2. Second would be my S90V CF military. Probably the best military I've ever had. Detent is perfect and the liner lock is very positive when it engages. 3rd is my spyderhawk. Just a flick of the wrist and it's open. Don't even touch the hole. Dlc S90V yojimbo 2 is also really fun...

Re: Carothers

I wanted a province but I just can't justify it. I have the fk2 and the Medium Chopper. Not to mention a good bit of busse knives and the respect. Carothers kinda put all those busses on vacation. Sure they come out from time to time but the medium Chopper handles most of the hard stuff. The FK2 is ...

Re: Which GOLDEN ERA Model Should Be Next?

I wouldn't mind seeing another Jess Horn. The lightweight is a fantastic knife. Easy to forget it's in your pocket. Very thin bladestock and a fine tip. Not sure if it's part of the time line but it deserves another run. https://i.imgur.com/mon0Ezt.jpeg My only knife from spyderco that was hair spli...

Re: Serrated cigar cutter

I've used my military as a cigar cutter quite a few times. Just place the cigar here and close the knife. I don't have cigars on hand so it's the best I can do. https://i.imgur.com/2rev1Vt.jpeg Alternatively I've also just held the knife in one hand and rotated the cigar with the other. You can easi...

Re: YoJumbo All Black

I wrote the copy for the YoJumbo to be technically accurate. The blade is DLC coated. The other parts are black coated to match the color theme of the knife, but they are not DLC. Because screws, clips, liners, etc. are of different materials, they have different coating requirements and do, in fac...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

People use things and throw them away or lose them. Knife AFIs are a very small part of the market. When something is readily available and you purchase it to use it you might not stop to think about it being a collectible later. I surely don't look at a hammer and say "maybe I should baby this...

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?

That's a tough question. I like the military and police 4 a lot. Lately though I've been carrying a DLC military and haven't really needed or wanted anything else for the past 2 moths or so. I don't have a yojumbo as it released at a bad time financially for me. Haven't carried the native chief a lo...

Re: SCRACHES on ZDP-189

I usually use scotch Brite pads. I just lay the blade flat on the pad and pull it back. Never did it with ZDP-189 but it should work like any other steel. Just be sure to pull back straight. If not it'll show in the finish.

Re: P'KAL vs ELVIA reverse edge edc review and comparison

I would suggest maybe doing a point on target comparison. Showing your natural stab and where each point is. Thoughts? I think I'd need to hold an elvia to see how it works. The curvature just looks a little over done. Probably why the blade goes back so far to bring the point up. Nice to see these...

Is that a captive recoil spring on the BUL? Would make since to have it strip down like a modern pistol without the barrel bushing.

Re: Microtech Question?

Does Microtech have a maintenance service? I own 4 Microtechs but I rarely carry them. Super nice knives, but I find them less ergonomic for EDC than my Spydercos. I'm sure they would do maintenance. According to the website if you send in for warranty they will clean, lube, and sharpen the knife f...
