Re: Do You Know What The Respect is Missing?

It's a pretty good knife. My only issue is the way the guard is secured. Mine has come loose several times from chopping with it. The guard won't come off or anything but it might rattle after. They used a slotted spring pin and it vibrates out with chopping. It stays in the knife but you have to ta...

Re: Birdseye Maple Chaparral Anticipation Thread

Definitely a nice looking knife, I planned on it...until I got some Figured Koa scales for the Watu! That took care of my itch for something "woody" and classy compared to my usual work knives. Very interested in how these scales look in person though, compared to the stock photo. Koa is a very bea...

Re: Who is into fixed blades?

@VashHash I have to have at least one Respect. It almost checks every box that I have for a Bowie. I understand the handle issue but honestly I like the way it was done for the fact that you could get some custom scales milled for it without having to worry about the tang. My personal preference is...

That's definitely something different and I like that he admits it's limitations in practical fights and tries to improve it. He also carries on the traditional style too which is important.

Re: Birdseye Maple Chaparral Anticipation Thread

I didn't even know this was a thing. Guess I missed it somewhere. Might be my first chaparral. I've seen Birdseye and flame maple used on guitars and it's pretty.

Re: Self Defense Knife? Can you Get It Out?

With the internet being what it is I'm sure there are lots of things we will never see or know about. That's the best thing about this forum though. We can all bring what we've seen or know and share with like minded individuals. Space is very important in conflict. Just don't think it always means ...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

Yeah the Japanese developed multiple fighting styles from seiza. A lot of Japanese martial art's originated from China. Different wars drove different people out and trade deals happened. Supposedly seiza was used to make the legs fall asleep and reduce the chance of fighting because it was hard to ...
