Re: Interest for an all Titanium Ikuchi?

Same as Tom, upgraded would be nice but not really interested in Ti. Ti is the answer when you want heavier, slippier, and more expensive...nothing I'm looking for ;)

Re: How important is scale color?

I'll buy anything dark and don't care past that. Bright colors stick out too much in the pocket, and with G10 in particular, light colors get dirty and nasty looking too quickly.

Re: A Vision for the PM2, The XM-18 of Spyderco

I think some here are confusing customization in the style of like the BM custom shop or that Spyderco offers different versions of the same model with how Hinderer sells *extra* parts that the *user/buyer* installs. Those are quite different. I think the OP is talking about the latter. Going on tha...

Re: PRICING

It's an old discussion at this point, ever since MAP was introduced at least.

I think it helps to look at price as part of the design. Is it a feature on the knife that I appreciate? Is it something I can live with? If neither, I pass on the knife, just like any other part of the design.

Re: Bladeops waved pm2 exclusive

I wonder what the extra force from waving open will do to the comp lock longer term. Interested to see how it turns out.

Love the blade shape

More acute than a Sharpmaker would be a welcomed change for sure.

Re: Small Police 4 lightweight

Put me down for the opposite, a P4-sized Endura :p The Caly 3.5 already fits the Endura-sized knife with a choil for me. If you haven't tried it, definitely worth picking up, especially if you can find the G10 version. It's not a "lightweight" model but is quite light. (Edit IIRC there's a LW versio...

Re: Spyderhole corrosion

Normal. The inside of the hole isn't finished as well as the rest of the knife so is more likely to rust. Comes off easy as others have said.

Re: Chaparral LW vs. (new) BM Mini Bugout

I love the Axis lock and I like the looks of the Mini-Bugout. I’ll probably get one before too long. The regular Bugout is cool, but never spoke to me enough to actually buy it. I keep waiting for the day when I see a Spyderco with an Axis lock. That would be sweet. :D I'm not convinced the Axis lo...

Re: Military with Compression Lock?

Always kind of surprised by the push for more comp locks when at the same time there are frequent reports of sticky locks, complaints about it being hard(er) to unlock with the small cutout, models with tabs and even edge sticking out over the tab when closed, and pinching. You don't see nearly as m...

Re: Chaparral LW vs. (new) BM Mini Bugout

For me the pros of each are:

Chap: Spydie hole, steel, slightly cheaper

Mini Bugout: No choil, Axis lock, edge to handle ratio, weight (even the full size Bugout beats the Chap in weight despite an extra inch of edge), deep carry clip (and free clip replacements), slightly thinner handle

Looks good to me going off the hardware.

It looks carried. Have you tried washing the handles? Might be dirt darkening it

Re: Reveal 4, What's your favorite release?

Pacific Salt 2 because the only thing that wasn't my favorite about the original was lack of tip down Pac Salt 2 makes me very happy too. For me it is not about tip down (I am tip up carry guy), but just to know should I ever need a replacement for my beloved yellow Pac Salt, it will be right there...

Re: Is DPS 15 Damascus "Real" Damascus??

A matter of semantics, but I wouldn't call the blade Damascus if it's only cladded in it. It's like saying those half cf half g10 handles are cf. The cladding is Damascus, the whole thing not. Just my .02

Pretty low carbon. Not surprised to see if in between like vg10 and s35vn. Still have to try it out though!
