I think the new 2013 FRN UKPN's have a full flat grind and maybe only in black FRN. So look for that if you prefer FFG. If you want colors and hollow grind it might be hard to get the newer spring.

I was dressed up and not expecting any heavy use needs so went with a Box Elder Mnandi.

There is a 2.5" limit in D.C. so I think he will have to file down the tip of a Bradley Air and carry it deep pocket. Today I received a CRK Mnandi to celebrate our new (same) president, small but still not legal in DC which is 50 miles away from my place. I carry a Chicago or ZDP Dragonfly whe...

A Zip tie in the hole might act as a reasonable thumbstud. I've done this to a Buck 342 and it makes opening way nicer.

I measured the Ti version at only 5g heavier than the CF version. Strange that it feels much heavier to me though. Maybe its the balance point or just some sort of optical illusion.

The day after I drop $173 on one, and it hasn't even arrived yet. Ghaa. Oh well I was OK with that price and that price was down from the first intro price. I wonder if these aren't selling as well as expected. It is a bit steep for a Taiwan knife. My CF version was perfect though so I have high hop...

It could use a slightly bigger spyder hole to go with the FFG.

Received mine today and my first impressions are one of disappointment. The fit and finish doesn't seem up to par. Functionally it is just fine, centered blade and good lockup and action. The thing that irks me most is there is a gap between the liner and the scale on the open side, and on the spine...

I really like mine. Only issue is the small hole makes it not as easy to open as many other spyderco's. Still better than many thumbstud knifes though. The hollow grind doesn't slice like the thin FFG's, but still good enough for an all around knife.

I prefer the Salt 1 and my girlfriend prefers the Saver. I guess that is why they make both models. I wish they would put a pointy tip blade in one of the Saver Choil handles. Stretch comes close but I like the ultra lightweight liner-less rescue handle.

For detecting a burr I run the edge against my thumbnail backwards in a stropping motion. The side with the burr will drag while the other side will glide. The side with the burr will also scrape some nail off in the process which you can see deposited on the edge. I'm not convinced that stropping w...

Currently at $310 for a previously used Sebenza. Buying used makes it easier to use yourself.

I got mine very lightly used, and its been my most carried Spydie since. It's the best spyderco for dress pants you don't want to wear out.

Use it!

I'd certainly buy a Foliage Green. Would consider an orange. Would likely pass on that light gray used in the SB Caly3.5.
