You always have to stay one step ahead, though -- this might make the G10 version the next ultra-rare holy grail collectable in a few years. :DMr Blonde wrote:I'm partial to the red one, the G10 version seems very close to my beloved Stretch, minus the lefty clip option.

Vassili, do you mean that your test is the only one that is accurate, that is why you are disregarding every single opinion from makers or steel manufacturers contradicting you? I have yet to see someone else putting in writing that 420HC is superior to M2... Here are a few thoughts from Joe Talmad...

It is fairly easy arrange to see http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34190 more difficult to get. Last time I checked few dealers, all of them are out of C105 75 mm Persians. Looking a little more at the design, I think I now must have one (and I really would like the large one). :D But I f...

The statement in bold totally discredits anything Vassili posts. Anyone who owns a Buck and an M2 BM knows that this is BS. I would love to see him defend this, since it is a very counter-intuitive finding, but I don't rule it out at all. From time to time I have had a knife made of lesser-grade st...

Metric, you should still be able to grab some Mini Persians if you look. They are in some ways better cutters than the Large Persian as you are closer to the tip and thus for most cutting tasks it gives you better control. Trust me on this one.... get a Mini :D I will definitely keep an eye out for...

There are some older ones I would like to try (Persian gets rave reviews and I've never seen one), but from those I've owned, I really like the older versions of the Cricket -- I like the new one, too, but the old ones are really, really cool. Would love to see creative new sprint run variations on ...

My manila rope cutting test shows this steel being best edge holding steel among production knives so far, performs almost same as Dozier and take 2nd place. See results here: http://playground.sun.com/~vasya/Manila-Rope-Results.html CPM S90V is not really good edge holder, possible because of high...

I had a Worker in the mid-90's that I really wanted to like -- I ended up giving it away. The blade just did not seem substantial enough to me, and the serrations seemed too shallow to offer much additional bite, while at the same time messing with the symmetry of the cut. I remember thinking it was...

If my entire knife collection/accumulation disappeared tomorrow, my first few replacements would be these: 1) Manix 2, one of the flat grind variations. (covers all bases for me and is next to indestructible with the best lock in the universe, imo) 2) Cricket. (I have no idea why it took me so long ...

The Delica has a cult-like following among MBC sorts of folks, and a choil on the Delica would ruin the knife for us, flat out ruin the knife. There are dozens of other Delica sized knives in the Spyderco line up that have a choil, please for the love of all that is holy leave the Delica alone... Y...
