If you are talking Sambar, then slow speeds to prevent burning...as the stag holds heat... Any other stag is semi-hollow, and does not burn as quickly...but slow speeds are still recomended... Bone is much easier to use...but it is not stag... Axis stag is also not hollow. Other thing to remember i...

About a decade ago my wife had a Strep infection that antibiotics couldn't cure, we went to infectious disease specialists in both California and PA, no joy. Went to alt med specialist who did some blood tests (I think maybe mumbo jumbo) and then gave her a special diet--basically don't eat anything...

I have a handful of Peak lights. Love 'em. Not the highest tech out there, but, in my mind, the prettiest. Gave one to my brother 1.5 years ago, his wife, who calls it the "Sherlock Holmes" flashlight, stole it from him immediately. Helping to keep someone employed in US is a bonus. I boug...

Been done before doesn't make it right, it doesn't matter if she knew the other party is driving or not, just out of control lawyers who would do anything for a buck. Easy to say unless you're the one with the missing leg--though I do agree that this one is a stretch, could be the the the sender is...

I was on I 95 S, on approach to Ft. McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore and the guy in front of me on the highway was driving so badly I couldn't get past him until it opened up to 3 lanes. As I passed, I saw him texting. I occasionally fantasize about driving around with a 40 oz cup of golf balls. Horrible...

In your opinion 2cha, is the Colt worth the extra coin. It all depends on what and how much you use it, what else you have etc etc, but I was just curious. I worked with a guy who's father in law had countless AR's and they said that the Colt was as good as it gets. Of course, everone has different...

I'm afraid I'll have to dissapoint you, but many quality binoculars are nowadays made in China. I didn't raise the issue of quality. From the research I've done so far, with binoculars, highest quality for $ spent will be of chinese manufacture. I morally don't want to give the chinese any more of ...

I had an LMT in hand, but ended up with Colt M4. The LMT is awesome and within budget. I've wanted to get my hands on the Ruger FB too. The bolt carrier and bolt are chromed to make for easier cleaning. After cleaning my M4 a handful of times, I do wish I'd gone with both a PD and chromed bolt/carri...

Need 8 x 32 binocular input

Going to Kenya, (looking not shooting) seeking 8 x 32 binocular choices NOT made in China--Swarovski, Leica, Zeiss out of price range. Ok to spend $500, willing to spend a bit more if it's worth it, or if I must to escape Chinese manufacture. So far I'm leaning toward Kowa or Alpen (both made in Jap...

Never heard of this before--whacking loose with the older cbbl happened, I don't buy it with the compression lock.

It's also interesting to look at the patents for different locking mechanisms. Links to many patents can be found by searching this forum.

In a liner lock and Reeve integral lock, the lock arm props up the front (cutting edge) of the blade tang. Most of the force of stabbing is resisted by the pivot pin. In a compression lock, the lock arm wedges into a slot on the bottom of the blade tang between a support pin and the pivot pin. IMO t...

I'll probably send it to Scott Gere for a Kydex sheath. He did a great job with my first Mule. Nice job on a great knife. Why not just do your own kydex sheath? If you can make scales, kydex will be a piece of cake. All it takes is a drill, heat source (toaster oven), fret saw, some sandpaper, a wa...
