If anyone thinks that SE is harder to maintain than PE I would suggest getting a Sharpmaker. I can touch up a SE blade in about 2 minutes on my Sharpmaker.

I've got one just like that and love it. It has gotten less use since I picked up a Pacific Salt though...As most have said, you can't beat the quality for the price.

I have 3 spydies in SE and as long as they are kept sharp they are very smooth slicers. Even on fruit.

I have a D'fly in VG-10 and a Pacific Salt in H-1. Both are SE. Edge retention seems to be very comparable on both.

If you are using it against a cutting board, the serrated edge will stay sharper longer. I have the Pacicifc Salt in SE and love it. It's an absolute razor. As long as you keep it sharp the SE will be nearly as smooth cutting as the plain edge.

Which Native?

I've decided on getting a native in PE for my next Spydie. Should I get the original in S30V or the Native III in VG-10. I have a D'fly SE in VG-10 and it seems like great steel but I have no experience with S30V. Lastly, should I get one of these 2 knives now or wait until the Spyderco Forum purple ...

What do you all use to strop?

I've got the Sharpmaker and really love it. I'm just wanting to take my edges that extra step. So, what do you all use to strop? Thanks.

Blade-Tech Katana Lite...

I know it's not a Spydie  but anyone have any experience with this knife? Says it's AUS-8 steel and looks pretty cool. Priced right too.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It looks like I need to add a few more details on my wants and budget. I am wanting something with around a 2.5"-3" blade and am limited to $100 or less. I really like G-10 handles but FRN works well also. I have been really looking at the Native, Delica, and the Caly ...

I carry a SE Dragonfly in my front right pocket and a SE Pacific Salt at about 5 o'clock on my waist. I use the Dragonfly more than the Pacific Salt.

Looking for a PE EDC

Like the title says, I am looking for a PE EDC. I currently have a Dragonfly, Tenacious, and a Pacific Salt. I like all these but they are all SE and so I would like to get a PE spydie that I can carry. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

I keep mine at my desk. Works great as a letter opener! Plus I got it FREE when I purchased my Tenacious! Search around and you can find lots of 3rd parties selling them.

In the latest issue of Men's Journal there is a 1 page feature on Mark Burnett (producer of Survivor) and it features the gear he carries. It references that he carries a Spyderco and says that it is a model "like" the Byrd G10 crow (I believe, sorry no pics).

Here's the actual quote from the ...

Lansky pocket sharpener for Spyderco knives

I am new to the forum and just purchased a Tenacious and a Dragonfly both with SE. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this little sharpener. Also, for a main sharpener, should I get the Sharpmaker or the ProFile sticks? Thanks for all your help!

Here is the Lansky pocket sharpener I am ...
