A Surefire E2e and whatever Spyderco I'm carrying that week.

For my carry-on-only business trips, I carry a Duracell Daylite 3-AAA only.

Hm. Not having any experience with the Edge Pro Apex sharpener system, I can't really comment about that. That said, it's pretty easy with the Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker :) . As for your technique for closing the Sage, that's definitely a common way to close liner locks, especially if the blade do...

I would strongly suggest getting a Cricket for the wife. It's a great little knife that's very useful and pretty friendly to non-knife people.

I went on a cruise last year and had a Delica (D4) with me. I figured that it's a good, dependable knife and easily replaced if I lost it for some reason.

I have a few different versions of the Kiwi, but mainly EDC the first jigged bone version. Since it's small, I usually hand it to people who need a knife, instead of taking out the EDC of the month from my back pocket.

For dressy, I like the CF Caly. It's pretty small and doesn't really stand out. Another one like is the black micarta Caly Jr.

I just got one in the mail yesterday. I like how it feels in the hand, but I'm finding I'm having a tough time releasing the linerlock. There doesn't seem to be enough room for me to stick my thumb in and push against the liner. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

I love both the CF Caly3 and the Sage, but for different reasons. I find the CF Caly3 to be closer to a "gentleman's folder". I have carried the CF Caly3 with a nice suit/shirt/tie. But it's also a great worker. I do love the feel of the CF on the Sage. It's just different from all the oth...

Just got mine today in the mail (as part of the latest CC box). I LOVE it. I love the rounded scales. I've never handled the black micarta Goddard Jr, so I have nothing to compare to. I'm putting it into my EDC rotation. It feels too good to sit in the drawer.

My preference for that pocket is the Kiwi (the jigged bone one). I had tried the Lava in that pocket for a little while, but it's just big enough that it would sometime jab me in the stomach if I bent over. But then I lost the Lava, so I went back to the Kiwi. Another suggestion is to get a Ladybug/...

Topic: Need Help: Dodo vs. Sage EDC

I own both a Sage and a Dodo (both PE and SE). For most tasks, I would go with the Sage. The Dodo is definitely an interesting knife in terms of ergos in the hand, and blade config, but the blade config is too specialized to be a good general purpose knife. The leaf-shape of the Sage is an extremely...

I have one, but also found the pliers and wrench to be not very useful, at least for the things I encounter on a day to day basis. I recall reading/hearing that the SpyderWrench was aimed at servicing bikes. Not sure how accurate that is.

I've been EDC-ing the Captain for several weeks now. I really like it. I've mostly used it for eating, actually - slicing up apples and peaches, and for steak. About the only thing I miss is a narrow tip - I get a couple containers every week that have zipties holding them closed, but without a narr...

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread, but where did you find the sashimi knife? I've been looking for one for a little while.

[quote="zenheretic"]To have gotten an actually CC Chinook II, you would have had to have signed up a couple of years ago, when the Chinook II was first released. ] Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. It probably got lost in the CC shuffle. I've been part of the collector's club since 2002? ...

I voted for the Native III.

I really like the feel of the Native III in the hand. I agree the S30V is better steel over the VG-10, but I find the ergonomics of the newer design to be much nicer.

I just got my Swick yesterday and it replaced a black SPOT around my neck. I really like it, a bit more than the SPOT in fact.
