electrical insulation

Nice job, I like the black spacers he used. What material is it? Tomas The spacer is vulcanized fibre, a cellulose based fibrous sheet. It comes in several grades ranging from electrical insulation to simple gasket. It can be purchased online or you can likely find it at an electrical supply house....

Let me know how it works for you after a few weeks of using it. If you change your mind about a detail don't hesitate to contact me. Kind of tricky to get a decent snapshot of it with all the glare. I may need to invest in a light tent.

This my desktop image right now. :D

Thanks you guys for the kind words. AngusW, the cut-out in the handle and the lanyard hole in the steel are both completely filled with epoxy. The S.P.O.T. has been out of production for a while now. It is much more comfortable to handle now, can't stress that enough. It is a neat little knife Charl...

S.P.O.T. with dyed/stabilized Maple burl scales

Here is my personal S.P.O.T. witch, when I purchased it, at once I realized that the factory scales did not agree with my grip. Having been pretty busy with life in general and my customers various projects I have found little time for my own knives. I had it naked in my workbench drawer for maybe 1...

Let me know how you like it Charlie. I have wanted to get one for a little while now, I have not put H-1 to work. Very curious about it's edge retention.

By the way, it appears you have a spyder bite just there. :D

Yes, a newbie can use it. You can get a knife razor sharp with it. Tip#1 Watch the instructional video/DVD even before you assemble the unit Tip#2 Watch the video again after assembly and before starting to sharpen. Tip#3 Be very careful to end each stroke with the tip of the blade still in contact...

I would recommend Knife Center of the internet and Cutlery shoppe, both are top notch businesses. As far as the starting knife I have to say the Manix 2 is a huge bang for the buck. It has 154CM steel on regular production models though. I own plenty of VG-10 and CPM-S30V and would say that the 154C...

...sniffles... I lost my first Spyder (a black FRN SE Dragonfly) about two years after I bought it. But, in time, the wound heals. You will never truely forget that Dragonfly though. It is etched in time. No, I am serious. I still miss that little slugger. I ended up buying a PE and SE version to re...

Nice sheath! Now that you've shown that, I don't think I'll be posting pictures of my sheath that I have yet to make. My kydex work is functional, but not quite pretty yet. Pretty, not quite. Always share with us. I always fail a lot before any good results are found. "It wouldn't be fun if it...

What do you use to press/mold the Kydex from the exterior? How do you set the grommets?

Thanks again,

Doug
I have a bench Arbor press with dies, and a few 600 lb clamps with molding foam.

Buy two. You won't regret it. Ball bearing lock is perfect. It is easy to use gloved or bare-handed. :D
