I have thumped on my Tenacious a lot, and it has been relegated to a workbench knife. Mainly because over time I found a lot of things I didn't like about it. It has handled things pretty well in "thump" mode, but the liner lock now travels all the way across the ramp to the opposite side,...

Tuff looks like it has more of a "kukuri" type bend to it--a disadvantage in my opinion.

Hi, I'm not sure if this has been asked yet but what is the number being produced of the new lum tanto? I have heard 500 and 600.

Thanks

Love the belly on the blade but not the handle--it just didn't work for me with the index finger placement. The handle forces the index finger forward or back but can't be placed "just right" below the thumb. Would love to see that blade placed on a straighter handled model.

For fixed blade, I'd dip briefly outside the realm of Spyderco and get an ESEE 4.

The only failures that I had with the original Persian were broken lock springs. The 2 that I got back, the spring had rusted and pitted and broke. Your experience is not what I call normal operation of this knife, or a problem that I have experienced. Send it back to Spyderco so they can have a lo...

This is an easy one for me. The Dragonfly is my most carried knife now. I have the g10 model and it is better for two reasons--first the g10 is really well textured on it and I prefer g10. But most importantly, it has a removable wire clip. I did remove that clip and I use it as a pure pocket knife-...

I had one then sold it fairly quickly. To me this is an example of a knife looks VERY cool but is a bad user. I didn't like the slippery scales and design that almost promoted hand slippage on to the edge of of the blade if hands got wet. Not a good using design in the original size. Prob a little b...

Persian 2 lock

Hi--I just purchased a new Persian 2 and after having played with it a little I am doubting that I want to keep it. One thing I'm not impressed with is the strength of the lock spring. Its a back lock but seems to take almost no effort to depress lock. The other Spydie back locks I have, a Dragon Fl...

I really like mine, and I know you will like yours too. Its the perfect urban EDC due to the smooth handle scales--it won't wreck your pants pocket at all. great blade and nice size for edc.

edge bevel question

I am wondering what the degree of bevel is on the sage 1 and the paramilitary 2. I am a little confused about bevels--it seems sometimes people add both sides of the blade when indicating bevel--so when they say 30, they mean 15 degree bevel on both sides right? It seems like I see 17-23 as the most...

Have you tried keeping your (right) thumb in the hole while pressing the tab with the index finger? Then just close using the hole. The easiest way for me is just press the tab and shake the blade closed, it only takes a small shake. No offense, but if you have to come up with well thought out way ...

Mine was easy opening right out of the box. One thing to note is that it is not as smooth on the initial centimeter of opening becasue of the additon of the ball bearing, which helps greatly with the closed retention. Closed retention was one of the biggest problems with para 1. Para 2 is a better k...

If there was no lock issue on the Para-2, I would vote for that one.
My para 2 lock works just a well as my para 1

Pulled out the Paramilitary 2 today while walking home to fight off a rabid badger that had dug a hole under my fence. Got him easily. Then, waved same piece at a couple guys who were poking around one of my back windows. Got 'em out of there. Thanks Spyderco!

I was highly anticipating the 3.5, but changed my mind after buying a caly 3 with CF scales. You see, I LOVE the Caly 3 and now believe that it is more of an edc knife than a field use knife--Its handle is too thin and the ergonomicas are such that I wouln't want to have to use it a lot camping etc....
