Re: Discontinued For 2018 - OFFICIAL List

I have a Stretch 2 C90GBNPE2 that looks like it has been discontinued.
I have two questions:
1. What does the "S" and triangle design on the right side near the opening hole mean?

2. What does the "LO" on the end of the label mean?

Thanks very much for your help.

Mine is ZDP 189 because it holds an edge almost forever. But it does show light rust marks if you don't keep after it.

I started with a 203M sharpener that I bought from Sal in KC at the knife guild show. Soon later I lost my carry knife and ordered my first - a lh worker. I loved it and became a dealer.
Today I am no longer a dealer and my usual carry knife is an Endura.

At the first three words I was getting excited that pictures were to follow of all your
American made Spydies, oh well. :/ Interesting topic regardless. :)

Sorry about that. I do have some stories though. One, there was a serious flood here and I used my Mariner to cut thick twine for several ...

A story re. Spyderco.....

I show my Goldens ( all have UDX's + and two are now gone) in AKC dog obedience.
I am left handed and I carried a Worker clipped to my left front pocket.
Several judges made me move it as the shiny clip could be used as an aid to get better heeling. I did not use it that way, but I can see where ...

Does anyone remember when......

Spyderco used AUS 8 steel and the Enduras and Delicas had clips molded on? They were prone to breaking.
Back then I had a good customer who would only buy that style of clip and refused the metal ones. Good luck with that now.

Awful. I hope all is ok......

When I was a dealer the Harpy was the only knife that got me right out of the box.
Harpys need extra care in handling.

BTW, I LOVE lobster. Yum!

I carry and use an Endura zdp189 and have found a little staining on the blade and grooved thumb top, which comes off easily. I found a "bright spot' on the edge after it ran into a chain link fence while cutting some brush. It took 3 min. on my Sharpmaker to fix. I am impressed with zdp.

If you have time and care to share, I'd love to hear more about how you got started with Spyderco, what your first impressions of their products were, etc. Why kind of reactions did your customers have to the first Worker knife? It was pretty unusual by any stretch of the imagination. Did you get ...

Do you think Sal reads this forum?......

I met him at the Guild Show in KC in about 1982 and became the first Mo. dealer. I sold only Sharpmakers at first, then the knife line. Workers were my #1 seller. There was just a few types offered.
He introduced me to Bob Terzoula.
A lot of water under the bridge since then and a lot of new knives ...
