Re: Seconds Sale, what are you hoping to snag?
It took a while and a lot of refreshing and errors, but finally snagged a lil' native and a SPY27 Native.

Re: Massdrop appears to be conforming to MAP
I noticed the MAP pricing on Massdrop too, but they now have a "free" case where if you decline, they take $25 off the MAP price. It also has free shipping. So it is slightly less than the MAP price if you don't fall for the gimmick and decline the free case. With that being said, part of ...

Re: Favorite small Spyderco
I love my Techno and it was my favorite small knife. That is until I got the Kiwi 4. The slim design and deep pocket clip are great you hardly can tell you are carrying it, and the blade is long enough to slice my fruit at lunch!

Re: Spyderedges! What are your uses & steel preferences and
My Spyderco Military SE is great for yard work. Great for clearing out vines and brush in my boxwoods, cutting rope and twine, and opening various bags of topsoil and mulch. One pull with the SE along a thick vine or weed usually does the trick. My SE really can't be replaced by a PE blade for this ...

Re: What knife or knives did you give or receive this Christ
Received a Spyderco Techno from my wife. I never thought I would like this knife, but it's really growing on me. I am really impressed with the ergos and love the deep pocket clip.

Classic Spyderco Military 440V question
Just picked up a used Spyderco Military 440V at a knife show this past weekend. Its in good condition except that the heads of the pins and/or screws are no longer along the top of the handle (there are no problems with pivot pin). Does anyone know if this model has pins or screws along the top of t...

My Navaja definitely has a detent ball, just like any other liner lock. I can see it engaging when closing. It's not as strong a detent as some, and it doesn't take too much effort to shake it open, but it's definitely there and functioning. Thanks. I looked at the linerlock and there appears to be...

I just bought a used Navaja and the ratcheting sound works well. However, I noticed that there is no detent keeping the knife closed. While it stays in there fairly tight, I find I can get the blade to open with a moderate flick of the wrist. Does anyone know if this is normal or is there an issue w...

Just picked up a Spyderco Blackhawk . . .
At a local knife show this past weekend. What intrigued me about this knife are the G-10 handles with NO liner. I never could understand why all of the G-10 knives made by Spyderco today have liners. The G-10 handle on the Blackhawk does not flex at all, so I see no point adding the weight of a SS l...

I have a Spyderco Military SE with a blade very similar to the one shown above. It has no markings and the area around the pivot screw is looks the same. I bought it used and it looked well used when I got it. I sharpened it up and it has been my go to yard knife for the past 2 years and has cut a l...

Are you talking about the full size Calypso? I assume that Spyderco considers the Caly and Calypso as different knives entirely since the Caly 3 and 3.5 fairly different than the original Calypso and Calypso Jr. The full size sprint run Calypso was disappointing to me since it did not have the wire...

The GB is a nice looking knife, but be aware that it is heavy and has no bump/guard, choil or jimping to protect the hand in the event of slipping. It also has a thick blade and is not a great slicer compared to other Spyderco models. I typically like lighter, thinner knives myself, but do carry the...

I love the all construction micarta handles and try to get my hands on them whenever I can. After seeing the polished G-10 on the Des Horn, it is the closest thing to the micarta handles offered by Spyderco today. Not to change the subject of this thread, but after I bought the Des Horn I wondered w...
