Looks good - can't wait to see more. Just an FYI - you might want to check knifekits.com for step drill bits. They work great for making the screw holes and flat bottomed counter bores at the same time. Not sure what sized screws spyderco uses but those bits worked perfectly for the pivot screws and...

I've had better luck using the phone or email. Get in touch with them ahead of time and tell them you're interested in something that's coming out. I don't know how well it works at various internet stores but I know I send most of my business to one location and they are usually happy to keep a spr...

I measured a new one just purchased:

Closed: 4 3/8"
Blade: (from scales): 3"
Cutting edge: 2 7/8"

Trainer has exactly the same dimensions. I doubt they changed, perhaps just a misprint?

This has been asked a lot on the BF legal forum. If I recall correctly, the general consensus was that if an officer can readily identify an item based on what's visible, then it's not concealed. So if it's reasonable to think it's a knife (which it probably is - or at least could easily be argued t...

This came up on one of the other forums and there were several people who swore by these: Very good: http://www.wihatools.com/200seri/267serie.htm Good: http://www.wihatools.com/400seri/455serie.htm The general claim was that these had higher quality tips, less likely to deform, strip, etc etc. - I ...

Needs to be something new - not just the normal black g10.

I vote for vg10, combination blue/black g10 scales with light scalloping or contouring to show off the color variations.

ps: waved would be cool as well (or maybe w/ enough steel so it could be waved by us...)

I don't think you can make this kind of broad generalization - knife laws are very state/location dependent. Here in CA, getting a concealed carry permit is impossible for most people but it's completely legal to carry a folding knife concealed - in some jurisdictions it's actually required to be co...

Got mine today (knifecenter). I was really worried when it arrived - the box was wet and looked like a dog had mauled it. Luckily they had packed it in enough paper that the box and knife were dry. It's a very nice knife - definitely the C83 model (3" cutting edge). Fits the hand perfectly. I'm...

I think the simple fact that this has a Damascus blade will create enough demand for these to sell out and command high resale values. However, I feel much the same as many other posters: 1. I am not liking these artificial blue jigged bone scales. 2. The groove in the bolster is also weird. 3. But...

ps: I agree - buy a super hawk for actual work, but a civilian and a matriarch because they're cool.

Well I count myself as the lucky one - I got a PE CF model for $170. Of course it had a little rust on the blade, backspacer, and liners but nothing a little elbow grease couldn't fix. :) :) Looks perfect now - even the light scratches in the carbon fiber finish polished right out.

FYI KnifeKits.com sells stepped drill bits that you can use for most of the holes that require a counter-bore. They work great - one step and you get the screw hole and the counter-bore. If you really want to save time, I'd also recommend getting a Ridgid oscillating spindle/belt sander from Home De...

Apparent typo, try moteng.com. Looks like a wholesaler. So why would someone advocate dropping a pre-order w/ one company and switching to another that doesn't allow you to pre-order and doesn't seem to show a retail price? It doesn't seem like any one company is going to get knives sooner than ano...
