The problem with most oils to me is that it collects dust and dirt, especially in something that spends a good deal of time in your pocket, and over time those particles will act like an abrasive in your knife and make it more gritty and wear out faster. My guess is your graininess is imperfections ...

Yes, your knife becomes harder to open after you first apply it, not user error.

Its a dry lubricant, let it dry and it will work :)

I actually use the radiuses on the 701mf to sharpen the bevel on the ground side. They seem to fit perfectly. Same for the slip stone.

One of the gentlest ways I know to remove rust from steel, thought it might buff it a bit.

I don't know about the steel difference, but If its the FRN UKPK I believe the BD1 version had its backspring tweaked to be a little stiffer to match the G10 version.

I own the GIN1 version and wish its backspring was stiffer.
