My Wave had a lot too when it came in. I suggest to turn the pivots of both the blade and the lockbar loose first. Typically, factory angles are 30, which allows you to touch up your edge easily at 40 with a sharpmaker. (matching the exact factory angle is much more difficult). OK, I understand at the final stage there is some hand sharpening before leaving the factory which is not an exact science but do the workers have a desired angle they are shooting for or is it get the sharpest edge at any angle they can, no matter what the angle is.
