I'm open to suggestions on steel. sal Seems to me that s35vn would be an upgrade to vg10 without being extremely expensive, does that sound accurate? And bd30p would be in about this same range price and performance wise(?). Carpenter XHP would get my attention. The Seki folks would be familiar wit...

Well it's time for yet another spydie addition! I already have a persistence, tenacious, endura 4, and pm2. The knives I'm looking at are the Millie, manix 2, sage, junior and yojimbo 2. Just taking some opinions on what you think would be a great new addition considering the ones I already have. I...

Thanks so much for the report. I keep thinking you are done, and you keep uploading more photos. :-) I really like the blue Spin. I'm using my etched one as my "wallet" today, money clip style. +1 that the larger version of the Kiwi should have a clip, preferably of the deep wire variety. ...

No one will confuse me with a photographer...

...but it's fun to take some pictures anyway. I hope someone will enjoy these comparisons. The Pacific Salt was reground flat by Brad Southard. I usually leave the clip off and use it when camping and in the kitchen at home. The geometry is wrong to be a great kitchen knife, but I like it (and the E...

A little late to the party I guess, but I'd love to see some new Byrd knives. I don't think I can really add anything to the folder comments. I also look forward to a new Finch, and the Meadowlark 2 is honestly one of my favorite designs of all the Spyderco knives, being similar to a Delica in many ...

I'd like a Spydie with a semi-wharncliffe blade profile similar to the PPT but with the edge enough below the handle when held to enable use on a cutting board. It would be an all-around camp knife, including food prep - FFG blade, compression or back lock, plastic or G10 handle. A semi-warncliffe b...

Another platform that could be interesting for this discussion is the PM2. There's a lot of room between the edge and the barrel of the lanyard hole. It seems like perhaps the edge could be dropped down into a semi-wharncliffe. I certainly like the idea of a super-wharn too. Maybe leaving just a bit...

I love my green one (so much in fact I just got a matching Endura). Blue was a close 2nd choice. I do feel like the colors help with the perceptions of non-knife people.

Spyfox

Just ran across this...

Used to seeing collaborations sold by Spyderco, this one goes the other way. It looks like a nice little knife, anyone have one? Any other Spyderco collaborations out there sold by the other company?

+1 on the idea of some thinner blade options. Along with the other thread on narrow blades, we could get a Spyderco "Bird and Trout" type knife (folding or fixed).

I'm with Wdr65 and typically prefer FRN over G10. I have a both an FRN Delica and a Caly 3.5. If the 3.5 had been available in FRN, I almost certainly would have chosen that over G10. The new Caly I'd be most likely to buy would be FRN Caly3 with one of the Carpenter steels. The micarta Caly Jr ment...

FRN Meadowlark 2 is a very nice knife and very similar to FFG Delica. The ML2 is just very slightly smaller and has a finger choil. Hard to imagine a better knife for the price.

Re-hijacking the thread back to the Dragonfly :-) The molded clip on my D'fly 1 has gotten somewhat bent and loose, so I was thinking of cutting off the clip altogether (probably would worry about a replacement; just use it in the pocket). Does the FRN clean up nicely with fine sandpaper? The Merlin...

Thumbs up on colors. Just bought a green VG-10 Delica, and I really like the shade of green on that knife. I also tend to prefer FRN over G10, which probably makes me odd. I have a couple of Salts which tend to get used outdoors, and so the yellow is very practical. My most carried Spydie is a black...

I just picked up the green FFG VG-10 Delica. I love it even more than I thought I would. I always thought I had to have a finger choil, but I find this knife really comfortable and light weight with great ergos. I think I actually like it overall more than my caly 3.5 (which is a great knife don't g...

Great review and photos. Thank you. I briefly handled a PPT but don't own one. I loved the semi-wharncliffe blade shape with the jimping on the spine, but the handle and lock weren't my favorite. Four users have a permanent home. A couple more still in boxes push me into the next bracket. If those two don't stay around, then they'll go to finance another :spyder:

The Caly 3.5 was in itself a gamble as it is close to the Caly3 and many argue that too many of our models are similar. I personally prefer the larger blade, but that's just me, and they're legal in Colorado. sal I hope the gamble pays off for you all financially. It certainly has paid off in terms...
