Re: Let's share some of more 'interesting' stories about Postal Mail and Delivery services!
Here's one on the USMule. About 20 years ago I had sold some stock and was waiting for the check, a four figure check. While patiently waiting I noticed we hadn't gotten any mail for about three days. No credit card offers, no advertising flyers, no magazines, nothing. Strange. Next day I saw my nex...

Stonewashed Sage2
I bought a used Sage2 from a friend this weekend. He got it in a trade. The scales, framelock and blade are stonewashed. Was this a sprint run or something a previous owner did? I have seen posts from people who did their own stonewash on Sages but nothing about if this something the factory did. Th...

I was just on Thursday. In fact, I uploaded over 500 pictures to back up my phone and posted a pic on FB and USN.

Re: sharpmaker any good?
Ref sharpening scandi blades on the SM, you could put the stones on the base and use them as a bench stone or even mount the stone on the side of the base like you were sharpening a pair of scissors.

Re: The 1960s: Televisions Very Best Shows EVER
I think a lot of us remember the old shows as being better than they actually are. But don't misunderstand me, there were some great shows. We have to remember that TV didn't hit their stride until late '50's, early '60's. Before that, everything was an experiment. What may have worked in radio didn...

Re: Pork question
If we really knew all about how our food was treated and processed, we'd quit eating. That's not an option for me. I try to vary the meat I eat, chicken, pork, beef, fish. Don't leave out the veggies. I don't pig out ordering the 16oz steak anymore. I still like a little raw hamburger now and again....

Re: Am I crazy to want an Emerson CQC 7
I would not recommend buying one if you haven't handled one. If you have and still want one, you won't be happy until you buy one and scratch that itch. I haven't been to the Blade show but I don't believe they discount the price of the knives for the show. I have 3, a 7, reground 7 and a Mini Comma...

Re: Why everyone should carry two (at least) knives for EDC
I justify carrying two (or more) several ways. Hard use/light use. Expensive knife/beater and or loner knife. Two is one/one is none. Because I can. My loaner knife is usually and inexpensive one that I won't cry if it gets damaged. But, thanks to Spyderco, even my "inexpensive" knives are...

Re: Kahr Arms Delica.
I picked one up recently in tan. It's my third Delica. I love the color as I wear tan cargo/5.11's a lot. I'm considering having the clip colored to match the scales, it should just about disappear when wearing it.

Re: Chances of a new Dodo?
I'm still not going to give up hope on a larger scale Dodo model. There have been a couple of times over the years I've suggested a Dodo model with a bigger/wider blade and larger ergonomic handle to accomodate it. And a bigger/wider/longer one would be a megabeast in SE for sure. I'm encountering ...

Re: Need some help: USN Ladybug Hawkbill
I have two full sized H1 Hawkbills that I have used quite a bit in yardwork. I doubt if I'll be using the USN Hawkbills for that, much too small. I do a lot of knot tying with 1-2 mm cord and paracord. I think that both PE and SE will have use for cutting cord, especially when cutting off the ends o...

Re: Gum wrapper fire starter
I've seen that done with a 9v battery and a gum wrapper. The wrapper has to have some foil. The Scoutmaster of our troop ended up buying about 8 packs of gum trying to find some that weren't completely paper or plastic for the demonstration.

Re: More about the Spyderco UF stone. Good stuff.
My wife got me a set of the UF stones for Christmas and I just put them to use this weekend. I don't use a straight razor but I do like a "shaving edge" on some of my knives. I was very impressed with the edge it put on the blades I sharpened up. A Delica, UK Wharncliffe, Spy and some Mule...

I was lucky enough to pick up an orange one when they came out. Later on I handled a CF dodo, I think I like it even more.
