Re: Caribbean Clip Screw Hole Problem

.078" is 2mm so if it's metric, it's probably an M2 screw. Standard pitches for M2 are .4 and .25, no idea which is correct (if either is correct). If I were guessing I'd probably try finer first (M2-0.25). Have you talked to customer service? Thank you Notsurewhy, you were right! I ordered a ...

Re: eBay condones counterfeit items.

I recently reported a seller who was selling numerous Benchmade fakes - they were all new, at absurdly low prices, all shipping from China, they had subtle but visible differences in the knives from the legit models, and all of of the listing titles described the knife, but none actually said "...

Re: Screw Sizes / please post if you have them !

Old but useful, I've used it many times before kindof buying every thread options for imperial and metric system :squinting-tongue Taïchung uses M2 for clip screws most of the time, sometimes M2.3. I don't have the Carribean to check but since you've said 0.76", it's definitely M2. I've create...

Re: Screw Sizes / please post if you have them !

I know this is quite an old thread, but very relevant to me at the moment, since I have a new Caribbean that I can't mount the pocket clip on the left side - the screws are too short. The screws measure .076" major diameter. I bought some longer 2-56 screws on eBay, which I thought was the righ...

Re: Caribbean Clip Screw Hole Problem

Okay, back again, I got three new 2-56 x 1/4" screws on eBay, which I thought was the correct screw size for Spyderco clips, but they don't fit through the clip holes or into the handle holes. The original screws that came with the knife measure .076" major diameter, and the 2-56 screws I ...

Re: Caribbean Clip Screw Hole Problem

Another lefty here and this is first time I have ever heard this problem has ever been encountered. I was actually stunned since have bee looking at the Caribbean but this issue sort of turns me away . I was hoping to hear from other members if this a common problem with this model or just a rare p...

Re: Brown G-10 Stretch "Test Model" observations

Those scales look great, Paul. Can't wait to see it together. I'm assuming the knife feels a bit odd with your carry method, given it's a wee bit longer? Well Jazz, it landed here a couple hours ago. I took the photos below of it when it arrived. They don't show off the texture as well as I'd like ...

Re: Caribbean Clip Screw Hole Problem

I don't have a good solution for you but, I ran into this on my K390 Stretch2. I was swapped the clip so a left handed friend could test drive it. But the factory screws wouldn't catch on that side. I did find some screws that came with aftermarket clips that worked though. Thank you for your reply...

Caribbean Clip Screw Hole Problem

Hello All, I recently purchased a new Caribbean, which is a wonderful knife, except for one small but significant problem. I am left handed, so I went to relocate the pocket clip on the left side of the knife, and found that two of the three clip screws would not engage in the handle holes. They go ...

Re: Pacific 2 Linerless Handles

Very cool, thank you everyone! And just to clarify, I didn't mean for this post about the linerless handles to come off as a complaint, or as questioning the quality of the knife or the brand. It was more of a design-oriented question of, "I've never seen this before, I wonder why they did that...

Pacific 2 Linerless Handles

Hello All - I recently picked up a Pacific Salt 2, and noticed after I bought it that the handle scales do not have steel liners. I am guessing that they were eliminated either to reduce costs, reduce weight, or both. The knife is very lightweight for sure, but the blade is a little sticky opening a...

Re: Replacement Sheath For Spot

I have 2 SPOTs, one plain, one serrated, purchased at a Seconds Sale years ago. I was told at that time they were all being sold as seconds because there were no sheaths for them. There were several trays of them at that sale. Aha! That explains it all - my Spot has the tiny notch that indicates a ...

Replacement Sheath For Spot

I recently acquired a Spot in the G10 / VG-10 configuration, without a sheath... Can anyone tell me where I might be able to get a replacement sheath, if possible? I wrote a note to Spyderco CS through the website, but have not gotten a reply. I figured that they're backlogged with requests, or they...

Wanting a Larger Dialex Adventura

I thought the Dialex Adventura was an odd duck, until I carried and used it. I was surprised to find that it worked really well overall as an EDC, as it carries, handles and cuts really well. But as I have large hands and prefer larger knives, I was wondering... How about a big brother version, an A...

Re: Endura 4 Stainless Hollow to Saber Grind Change

And, here's a related question:

Will the spyderedged stainless Enduras be flat-saber ground for the time being as well, or are they hollow-saber ground as before? I would think the factory would likely start with the same blade blanks for both plain and spyderedged knives.

Thanks all, Doug

Re: Endura 4 Stainless Hollow to Saber Grind Change

Hi Sal, You're very welcome! Thank you for your responses, and for your first rate products. By the way, my other faves include the Millie, the Bradley 1, the Endura FFG G-10, the Impala, and the original Stretch. My gunsmithing years, which began at Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood, opened my ...

Re: Endura 4 Stainless Hollow to Saber Grind Change

Thank you Sal and All for your replies! I'm glad to learn something new about correct blade grind terminology. I bought the all-stainless Endura because I thought it was the only current Endura available with a hollow saber-ground blade. That grind seemed to reduce the weight of the knife, and it se...

Endura 4 Stainless Hollow to Saber Grind Change

Hello All, I recently bought a new all-stainless Endura 4, plain edge, and was surprised to find that it had a saber-ground blade, since I remember this model having a hollow-ground blade, which I prefer. Can anyone tell me when, and why, this change was made, or redirect me to an existing thread ab...
