I'll get the obligatory "It's worthless and you should send it to me to dispose of" out of the way.

Recently I saw one go for around $150 on an auction site but I don't know if that is an accurate price because I haven't been pursuing kris's lately.

Why can't H1 be flat ground?

It is not impossible to flat grind H1, but it would be expensive to produce.
When full flat grinding a blade you must grind each side of the blade separately. This means that when you grind the second side the steel is much harder; so the stock removal becomes much ...

But my wallet hasn't caught up to last year yet, I might have to sell a kidney to make sure I get all these sprint runs! :D

I'm don't think it is Taiwan because the Japanese don't send their steel to other countries, which is why the Taiwan models have been made with American steel. Since the blade it zdp-189 my bet is it is made in Seki.

But it's an absolute steal at $115!

Hi Catamount,

CTS-XHP will be available in a Manix2 Sprint model soon.

It is ...

It does look good, more carbon than 440c plus the vanadium and it is a powdered metal so it will be very consistent.

You can find it on the steel chart below under it's non-carpenter name of 440xh.
