Re: Which is your most useful and most used Spyderco?

My VG-10 Endura has only really had one use, but it is my most used Spyderco knife. Not my longest carry, but for daily farm use it has seen more cutting action than other knives I carry, or have carried.

Re: Your Favorite Big And Small Spyderco EDC

Endura and a Dragonfly. VG10 and G-2 is as exotic as I have gotten with my EDC. Will carry my Manix XL on special occasions but for every day duty these dynamic duos have been saving my day, every day, for many many years. Thank you Sal!

Re: Spyderco prybar

Tangent! Since we are going there, I would hope Spyderco might first make a utility knife that takes those trapizoidal carpet cutter blades. Most of the ones I have fall apart after a few uses. Maybe Spyderco could also make some special blades for them, too (H1, S30V, etc.). Bright FRN and GITD G10...

Re: How do you store your knives?

Like TP in the bathroom, my Spyderco knives are stored close to where the action happens -- inside the first aid kit. All kidding aside, I have a Sentry Safe pistol cabinet that is filled with my boxed knives along with one of those Remington branded plug-in rechargeable dessicant bricks and a band-...

Re: Any info on this wooden Spydie box?

I'd venture to say the mountains were added by Spyderco to extra WTC boxes and represent the Rockies of Golden, Colorado. Maybe a Seconds sale offering?

Re: SHOT Show 2016 Videos

I'm going to the Shot Show tomorrow but I thought cameras and taking pictures was against the rules. Kind of a blanket convention rule with some exceptions. Many vendors welcome photos and videos at their booths and others are very restrictive. Spyderco, from previous show reports, has some knife m...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Trying out a new Manix2 XL. First tip up knife, which is not playing well to my preferred spydie-drop opening method. Will see if it grows on me the more I carry it. Love the knife in-hand, the ergos are incredible.

Re: Kahr Delica, I don't get it

Have a couple Enduras that have ~35% blade loss that I think will get this mod or something similar to it (maybe a sheepfoot style rescue knife tip).

Re: Manix 2 - Handle Traction ???

It's just jimping. Just curious but what led you to believe that jimping is only on the thumb ramp and/or choil? Thanks EvilD Primarily, the definitions I could find for jimping were mostly based on what appears to be traditional embellishments to the spine and bolster areas of a knife as a series ...

Re: Manix 2 - Handle Traction ???

Paul summed it up pretty well. I suppose there are many different styles/variations of jimping out there so the term "jimping" may be more of a generic term to describe stippling, bumps, ridges, etc. I believe that's where this is headed. Perhaps I am seeking a narrower definition than ex...

Re:

Taken directly from the Spyderco online catalog page for the Manix 2 The Jimping doesn't stop there. With full steel liners the scales have jimping that extends beyond the G-10 handle scales scalloping areas of the handle's perimeter. This one is not slipping out of your hand and works well with gl...

Manix 2 - Handle Traction ???

In the interest of learning something new if something new can be learned.... Does Spyderco have a different term for its raised traction notches on the handles of a Manix or does it fully fall into the definition of jimping? It's seemingly unique to that knife (protrusions rather than cuts or notch...

Re: Calendar contest?

On a similar but unrelated topic, there was a contest for photos of abused Spyderco knives and an offer to the winner to have it spruced back up by the Spyderco Crew. Did the results of the contest get posted somewhere? I lost the thread and was hoping to see the results of that one. I think the ori...

Re: Legal autonomy

Yes! Please do this! Really love the purpose-built design. Even though we can have autos and butterfly knives in Oregon I have little interest in them due to the legal concerns surrounding them, including how they must be carried. The previously mentioned flipper addition to mimic the behavior of an...

Re: Just lost my dragonfly super blue

Tragic loss to be sure. I can only hope the person that finds your knife will love it as much as you do and enjoys the infection that follows. Handle swaps are possible on the newer FRN DF knives. Generally it is good practice to swap both the lock bar and blade as they are a matched pair (tuned to ...
