You are right, it would be nice to again have the option of a hollow grind on popular models like the Manix 2 or even the Native…

Ah, the Fradon Lock, the Manix that got away! I chased (and overpaid) both Pilot runs and then completely missed that one. I am glad one ended in good hands.

Re: Real World User Experience Sharpening CPM 15V

To add onto @RyanY 's data point, I figured I would mention my own comparisons between 15V and MagnaMax, both on the Mule platform. This was just some work done on live silver maple wood, both had the factory edges, and both were roughly 16°~ per side(verified by my goniometer).

I only ...

Re: Is Maxamet from Taiwan "better" than from USA?

Seems pretty obvious and expected that putting a big hole in a blade is going to make it weaker in that spot. It's also expected that some steels are going to be more likely to fracture than bend. Seems even more likely that you'd understand how these things add up to make a combo that you shouldn ...

Re: Real World User Experience Sharpening CPM 15V

Finally got around to reprofiling my Native 5 LW. Used a Shapal 325gr diamond plate to set the bevel, then refined the edge on a Naniwa 400gr resin bonded diamond stone. Haven't used the Naniwa too much but it's starting to grow on me. Might grab the 1000gr version of this stone.

Stropped with ...

Re: Taichung models quickly joining my favorites

The only Taichung backlock that I know of is the discontinued Sage 4. I don't know why there aren't more.

Sal has said that the company doesn't usually change the factory or country that a model comes from, so I don't see how a Taichung Delica could happen, barring something catastrophic ...

I missed the sale last week.
I know that at the beginning they also put it in the double points promotion, but that was clearly a mistake because it was gone in a flash.

What was the price?

Re: Kapara s90v burlap micarta KnifeCenter exclusive

I picked up one of these from Knife Center. Wonderful knife! It's very well made, and the design is great. I find it very tempting to buy a backup, but even though it's a very reasonable price, it's STILL $255 plus tax!

I would -already did, actually- definitely get a backup. What are the odds ...
