Re: Para3 Maxamet now available

I wonder if there’s going to be another drop of these as I see a vendor with a pre-order available...

Wait...you mean to order and buy or preorder?
Pre-order ... GP had them up too but sold out... I imagine vendors are getting their numbers for a soon to come drop.

Re: HAP40 Dragonfly

Super Blue takes a forced patina with acetic acid much easier than HAP40:

Re: HAP40 Dragonfly

I missed out on the Super Blue Dragonfly and it seems all the preorders for the HAP40 Dragonfly (I've been out of knife collecting for a while ;) ).. Is there a brief window these days to nab a popular model that hasn't been pre-ordered?

I hope they do the second run in a different steel.. The most common failure I've seen in secondary market Dodos is the tip breaking. Which steel would be best to avoid this? Something with high toughness like CPM3V? How about a 1095 or a Superblue Dodo? :D

Mine came with one or two divots like you mention. I just marked them with a Sharpie and
avoid using that side out of three. It didn't really bother me all that much...

Thanks for taking the time to do the interview.. it's always great to hear directly from the
designers their point of view on their own products.

I couldn't take my eyes off that titanium totem you were wearing Sal.. very cool design!

It's just my opinion but at $300 it's not that far of a leap into a nice custom. The inflation/speculation aspect only turns me off more. Sour grapes possibly but I certainly don't miss having one in my pocket. I do have a 20CP version on order but at less than half $300. Whatever floats thine boat,...

I agree... plus, aesthetically, having plastic associated with the locking mechanism seems chincy somehow (I know this is irrational for the most part).
