I like that first Terzuola, but its too small for my hands. Consequently, the Starmate is one of my two all time favorites. More than the C15, I'd love to see a larger version of the Starmate. Ah, ****. Just make 'em all bigger. :D

spyderco depends on their extensive network of distributors to get product to us dealers. they have to limit the number of SKU's they require the distributors to stock. Remember how many of these knives come in several variants. that's a lot of boxes to keep on the shelf.

Ah lyk them new fangled maetal knahves. There's too many variables involved; different steels have different characteristics. For straight up edge holding ability, I prefer S60V, even to S30V. I like the high polish I can get on the edge with VG10, and I like how easy BG42 is to sharpen, especially ...

My favorite is the Starmate, followed by the Persian. Ed Schemp not only did a great job on this knife, he was great to talk knives with at the SHOT show. That was reason enough on its own to put the Persian on my gotta have list. It doesn't hurt that its wonderfully comfortable and elegantly simple.

I have a rotation of folders, but the one I carry most often is a CE Starmate. I wish I coulda gotten a PE, but the shop never stocked them, so I didn't get one! There's a Ladybug on my keys, a SAK Rambler in either my change pocket or my off side pocket. Clipped to the left side pocket is a Surefir...

back in the day, Spyderco used to show this as the way to open them, with a section of the catalog devoted to it. Most people seem to have transitioned to thumb opening them instead, but the method is still valid.

Because liner locks are generally fat, and Spyderco has always been one of the slimmest high performance knives on the market. Besides, liner locks are gonna be replaced by whatever the next fad is. Some of my EDC knives are liner locks, but I tolerate the lock because the knife has other features I...

They show up on Ebay from time to time, but are becoming increasingly rare. Last time I talked to 'em, Wright Knife and Sporting Goods has at least one. www.wrightknife.com They're gonna be tough to find; most of us that have them are not willing to part with them, because the Starmate rocks.

1. What size (blade length) knife do you normally carry? of late, between 3.5 and 4.5 inch blades. I would prefer a slightly longer blade, actually. 2. What do you use your knife for? Primarily it is a work knife, for opening shipping boxes and other packaging. Its also carried for personal protecti...

Interesting that the Cutco site doesn't list the price. Pyramid marketed products generally have rediculous prices in the "new" market. If you're gonna do it, get 'em on Ebay. Paying retail for those scissors would not be a good idea for your checking account.

VG-10 is light years better than ATS-55. It holds an edge at least 85% better, is twice as easy to sharpen, never rusts, and is optimized by its molecular structure to be superior for use on blades with serrations. ATS-55 has a 45% chance of load bearing fracturing, corrodes even in the desert, and ...

Are you looking for take apart, old style shears, or just some scissors for use in the kitchen? In the take aparts, I like the Messermeister kitchen shears; I think the part number is DN-1040. These are also marketed by Buck as the 815. If you want a non-take apart shear, my faves are the Wusthof Tr...

Sometimes serrated blades absolutely have to see the grey stones, and need some pretty aggressive work, too. If you're just touching up an edge, just use the fine rods.
