Congrats Deacon! Are you going to carry it? That knife will look great with some of the luster of newness worn off. :)

I dropped my old SS Police model many times, and one of those drops happened to pinch the handle slabs together on the pivot side of the knife. I got in there with my Leatherman's file and took the little "burr" off the inside of the handles and got everything moving quickly again. Even as...

Hi dbcad, thanks for this fun GAW! The Spydie forum is a tremendous font of knowledge, and there are many intellectually generous people who will help all of us, poor dull-bladed FNGs, as we endeavor to get back to the sharper side of life. I appreciate the integrity of Spyderco, and I choose Spyder...

For pocket carry, I prefer the Military for its light weight and the excellent steels of the Sprint Runs. For inside the waistband carry I prefer the stainless Police. As a compromise, the G-10 Police III would be a good choice if the blade were within the legal limit for where I live. I think yabl...

I seem to sharpen my 8Cr13MoV Persistence more than I do my VG-10 Urban when I swap them out for EDC, but that may be due to the fact that I can more easily sharpen the Persistence. With the VG-10 blades, the Sharpmaker comes out when there's no other choice. With the 8Cr13MoV, if I check the blade ...

My shirts generally have front pockets (a vestige from my days as a smoker), and a Ladybug in your shirt pocket is a great convenience indeed. I find myself sometimes trying to do as much as possible with the Ladybug, almost playing a little game where I get bonus points for using the Ladybug instea...

Only the proto UK Rescue was FFG (but they still use the photo of it in their marketing material), the production version of the G10 is actually hollow ground S30V. So the G10 and FRN versions of the Rescue model are actually functionally the same aside from different steel. You can take a look at ...
