Knife training

Is there any defensive knife training still available through Spyderco. I remember Michael J. was heading this up sometime ago. Been away for sometime and now do not see anything mentioned here about it.

Okay I contacted Vess and we got things going on a horizontal sheath. He said it would take one week at which time he would send me photos for my approval followed by paying for it. I have to say he is excellent fellow to work with. Next month I plan on ordering a vertical sheath from him. My reason...

Aloha Gallaghe, Do you remember the first appearance of the Gunting known as the REKAT Escalator? God bless  No I don't but funny you mention that, this weekend at Blade West a vendor had a Spyderco which looked very very similar to the Gunting. He said many people mistake it for a Gunting, t...

You mentioned you found a drone at NGK, by that do you mean the Red one? THAT is the trainer... ]

To me a "red one" is a training knife although I called it a trainer/drone. Sorry for the use of words to mislead.

Excellent news!!! I am ready for two live Endura and two trainers.

Would be nice to have a Police model with clip holes for left-handed carry thinking of what has been done with these folders. Been wanting to carry the Police left-handed...missed the run done several years ago.

[quote="smcfalls13"]See the other thread for info about the Trainer and videos. I'm curious though, was the Gunting you got off Ebay an S30V PE? If so, you got extremely lucky, because I watch Ebay carefully when it comes to Guntings, and if an S30V PE slipped under my radar, I'm going to ...

Best sheath for the Gunting in my opinion. Not too expensive either.
I love the sheath but do not care for the method it attaches to a belt, at least in my case, I wear a thick gun belt which when attempting this style would not fit the belt thickness.

Just run a google search for "Gunting trainer" and you'll come up with more than dozen sites that still show it on their sites. I find it highly likely that they are still in stock too, as most people aren't buying the trainers, they're just looking for liveblades. http://www.newgraham.co...

Last month I purchased one for $137 on eBay along with one today at Blade West for $100. The one I purchased today has a serial number of 798 and the ramp is a touch different then the one without the serial number.

Now need to hunt down a trainer/drone and training tapes/dvd.

I went to the show today. Someone told me the price per table would be (or is) $450. Was hoping for Spyderco and Emerson tables but neither were there. There was plenty of Spydercos there, some unusual ones which I never saw in the catalog for the past 3 or 4 years. Happen to pick up a PE Gunting wi...

Grunting trainers in Pacific NW

As already mentioned, "get training", make sure the training includes fighting on the ground because many times the fight will quickly become a ground fight. Also document all training recieved in the event you do end up using the knife for self-defense. I highly suggest a trainer which ma...
