Follow-up: While I was seduced by the wharnie shape, orange color, under 3-inch blade size, and -- let's not forget -- the closeout price -- even Spydie might have a hard time convincing me to buy any more slippies. I see no good reason to give up locks while I still have an option. from your op i ...

vic, you should be able to give us 1,000 specific reasons a slipjoint is good or bad, but you just say they are bad and give us zero reason. It seems like you are arguing, but giving NO information to support why your side is correct. You have said a lot so far, and all I can report is: He has made...

I don't agree with a lock making a knife safer to use. A lock gives you a false sense of security. When you assume the lock will work and it doesn't, then your assumption gets you injured more severely. I believe that a lot knife related injuries could be prevented by using slipjoints. if a slipjoi...

This thread is kind of annoying in the fact that most of the people who argue against slipjoints are people who have never tried them. I still think that if people will try them out, they will like them. your post is kind of annoying too donut i've tried them, they're the only knives i can carry he...

Never had a slipit and, where I live, have absolutely no need for a lockless folder. Also, I would not want to risk injury to fingers, etc. That said, I like the looks of one of the slipits on sale at a closeout price. Spydie makes some nice designs, as we all know. Just wish the darn thing had a l...

it wouldn't need to lose any cutting edge, plenty of room for choil

You mean 15 minutes of talking without even opening the knife? :p I trust Spyderco to make a nice knife even without nutn saying so. ;) is it really still the cool thing to do to slag off this guy's videos? even when he highly praises something you like you still have to do the in thing don't you? ...

the multicam looked excellent and it would be expensive to do no doubt. i wouldn't buy one but wouldn't fault anyone for doing so. it would probably be an investment.

i wouldn't pay money for any persistence though, and buying a stock persistence certainly wouldn't be an investment

Not to argue, but maybe that has been your experience with semi-autos as far as being reliable...It has not been my experience, I probably have more exposure to issues revolving around the semi-auto's reliability, as I am a certified Law Enforcement and Civilian Firearms Instructor. Shawn, seems to me you know what caliber performance you want in your handgun for your needs.....45 ACP Two thumbs up from me on that choice...Thing is you really need to think about the platform for delivery. You're thinking a Semi-auto, bigger ammo capacity, fast rapid delivery, but are you think...

See... thing is, that wasn't what I was doing. Yea or any material like cardboard. A FFG blade acts like a wedge. In most cases I prefer a high-hollow like you said. 90% of my cuts are only midway up the blade and the geometry of that grind makes way more sense. They also sharpen longer before getting thick and needing to be thinned. exactly, t...
