TS didn't say folder.
When only choosing Spyderco:
Moran
Schempp Rock
Spydersaw
I would not know why I should choose folders, most are quite heavy compared to a good fixed blade.

@Paul; Years ago you posted about using your Chaparral for all the cutting tasks during a move. That was one of the things that started me on the path I am now. Thanks for your advice and your huge contribution to this forum. @Elena, thanks for your opinion. In my OP I posted my thoughts about the C...

Want an new EDC. Criteria: Sub 3’’, Cutting capacity, ergonomics, clip, weight.
Hey guys, long time no see. Since a few months, I have got myself an office job in engineering (hence sub 3’’). I don’t know how I feel about the office part, but I love to invent stuff in all kinds of materials. I never bought a lot of knives, but my budget improved considerably. The thing what I a...

First off, thanks for the vids. These are great for those of us that can't or didn't make it to SHOT. Why would you need a 4 way reversable clip on an Emerson opener? I thought the point of the opener was only effective in tip up carry? If you plan to go tip down, then won't the opener become usele...

About a year ago I was attending a party at somebody's home. Most of the people there where scouts or people with an agricultural background. As a knifenut, I was quite welcome. I carried my DMT Diafolds with me, and sharpened some knives that night. At some point, somebody challenged me for a wrest...

I would like a sub-forum, but i can live comfortably without the subforum. What I am almost ashamed of, is how people look down upon the Byrds. They are great knives. I would love to see more respect for, per example. I bet there are a lot of Endura owners who would prefer the ergo's of Cara Cara2 o...

The shear strength of micarta is much lower than that of more commonly used materials like stainless steel and brass. Micarta is also more flexible than those materials. When you put pressure on the scales, the glue has to take a lot of the strength. When you pin the knife with brass or stainless st...

The normal Ladybug handle is injection molded fiber strengthened thermoplastic. to get a slot like that into the handle, there has to be a very small and long slide into the already pricey mold. I do not think it is technically possible to make those long slides work in the mould. It is perfectly po...

I use the 'Microbevel' the same way as Cliff does. My 'back bevel' is about 10 degrees, made with extra course DMT. About 5 minutes work on a stock Para2. I then polished it to 1000 grit. My 'edge bevel' is about 25 degrees. The edge is strong enough for my use, and sharpening is a lot quicker. The ...

Do you think that it would be possible to make a slip-joint version of the Junior? :) I love that shape, with the deep cut-out in the handle, but in many countries you'd be banned from EDCing one because it locks :( I would say, let an American knifemaker buy the knife for you, and let him grind th...
