Just asking.... If i already have spyderco folder no-legal... what should i do with those? In Canada did they became collectable i mean double priced? So we had the right to carry straight blade... but not folder? Seams werd.... At this point they are still legal to carry, its the CBSA that's stoppi...

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
Condolences to all Canadians. That period had a real impact on my enthusiasm for knives. Looking online at all the knives I couldn't have gave me the sh*ts so I stopped looking. Given the attitude toward knives at the time, I stopped carrying altogether. Thanks man, you've hit the nail on the head,...

Re: Chaparral FRN or Raffir Noble?
Not sure this will help you. I have the Raffir,I don't use it because its too pretty I also have the CF Chaparral which I now use instead of the Raffir. If I had the LW Chaparral, I would use it, instead of the CF I'm a very sick puppy! :p

Re: 2017 - Lightweight/FRN Chaparral
I've been carrying my CF for years and the new FRN version just can't find it's way into rotation. In the end I just prefer the feel of the CF. When I bought it it was roughly the same price as the new FRN version. But the now $40 difference is staggering. I know what your saying regarding the cost...

Re: 2017 - Lightweight/FRN Chaparral
Ended up with the Chappie, and very pleased with it. Design and execution are first-rate, I believe I found my perfect EDC. My DF2 feels like a big mini-knife, the Chappie feels like the smallest possible regular sized knife (exactly what I wanted), and the Delica I held in store felt like a regula...

Re: Calling all Canadians - Canadian knife discussion
I was thinking if Spyderco could have a look at the now discontinued Benchmade Benchmite and work on similar mechanics. Make a 4" handel with a 3" blade for a start this might pass inspection. I don't want to link to any of the google pic's but have a look. "Benchmade Benchmite With B...

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped
Now that I have the caly, I'm not sure what to do with the native or sage. Can't picture myself reaching for them instead. Don't worry about the Native or Sage, there also keepers. We knife boys are a wee bit fickle, Your most liked knife today is the Caly. There comes days that feel like Hey lets ...

Re: Calling all Canadians - Canadian knife discussion
I have to say, I'm really not enthused about my knives right now. I feel like I'm going to be stuck with a whole lot of money's worth of things I can't legally enjoy, including my prized Delica wharnies. Even the UKPKs, if they can be Spyderco dropped. Only ones okay are Spy-DK and Pingo. I don't r...

Exactly! Although by the time the next election comes around we will be a real tree hugging country. :eek:BrianMcCord wrote:dc50 wrote:BrianMcCord wrote:

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
I will not travel without my Spydercos, so until this changes, I'm no longer going to Canada. What a mess! I guess that works both ways Brian ;) I won't be able to take a trip to the USA with my Spyderco's and return to Canada with them. :( Not even if I carry one of my many UKPK'S its a real BUMMER!

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped
It would be sweet to see the Caly 3 back in regular production...but I’m not sure if that will happen again or not? I'm thinking the Caly 3 is one of Spyderco's gems for sure. Although, with brilliant merchandising of different steels and handle material's running them on a Sprint run there virtual...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Sorry guys. We have some stupid firearms laws here in California, so I know what it's like to feel unfairly oppressed based on things that look scary to certain people. Sending good vibes your way ... Thanks man! Funny thing, it seems the more Liberal thinking the Government gets, the more rights ar...

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped
I am going to bite the bullet and start customizing mine to my grip and throw the possibility of collectability out the window. Planning to round off the G-10 all around as well as the spine of the blade. I am really tempted to polish the contact surfaces of the tang as well, but it already seems s...

I have to agree about the cladding. I was hoping the blade was pure HAP40. Just like my Super Blue Caly 3.5

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
I was also concerned for our dealers in Canada,eg Warriors and Wonders they have really upped their inventory this past year. Can you imagine being stuck with thousands of dollars in inventory Hey, after buying 3 knives in a little over a month, I'm workin' on it. ;) I know eh! I bet theres a few o...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Awesome! I have always had a fear that our Government would adopt whats happened in Europe and Australia. I really felt sorry for those guys, when New products come out here, and they really legally can't purchase/carry one. I was also concerned for our dealers in Canada,eg Warriors and Wonders they ...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
I just came to the party late. This is just CBSA at this point correct? I should still be able to carry a Spyderco, Benchmade and other brands legally if stopped by our local police or RCMP?
