Thanks Mike,

Really appreciate the quick response. I'll go ahead and send them in. I love my Yojimbo.

Getting Warranty and Repair Work Done from Overseas

As per the title... I just sent an email to Spyderco W&R, it'll probably be a while before I hear back from them. I'm shipping back 2 knives to them; one needs the tip resharpened, the serrations. Has anyone sent their knives in from overseas before? - What's the procedure? - Do I need to send t...

Agreed. FWIW, Spyderco bi-directional texturing on FRN gives a really good grip without being too aggressive in my baby soft hands.

Re: Back After a Few Years... Thoughts on LW Knives.

I guess the FRN in use now is also a slightly harder. Probably necessary because of the lack of steel liners for hardware screws. Haven't seen disassembly pics yet but I'm guessing captured nuts? The feel is different, that's for sure. I actually like the steel liners on my FRN knives. I'm probably ...

Agree, I think there's a sweetspot. I'm willing to experiment though. You know, for Science and stuff.

Re: Back After a Few Years... Thoughts on LW Knives.

Won't be the first time I've bought and shelved knives but I'll give it a go. The Native feels slightly less offensive. The Manix feels totally off. My rotation consists of a purple Delica, a Para (older version) and a Native (non-FFG). Actually come to think of it I don't rotate knives, I only have...

Back After a Few Years... Thoughts on LW Knives.

After a few years away from the forum I'm back. The Kris, Persians and Shabaria all gone to cover vet bills. Some days I regret it, but it bought me more time with my faithful companion. On a brighter note, I just received my first Spyderco knife after many years. Two in fact; an orange Native LW an...

Maybe it's a side effect of living in Singapore where life and everything else moves at breakneck speed. The thought that a parcel takes weeks to clear is just foreign to me but then again Singapore is but a small island and mail usually gets to me within a day. You know you are desperate when you f...

Never had an outbound package get stuck for more than a couple days anywhere in the USA, but I had one, inbound from Europe, get stuck in NY customs for nearly a month. It then arrived, unopened, while still shown as "Held by Customs". Yup, inbound into USA... I gathered as much that it i...

Yeah, I have DC for all my shipments too but I've never received any of the DC slips back. I'm going to take your suggestion and email them. Took 5 days to arrive in the US and more than 2 weeks just to clear customs. At this rate I'm going to get stomach ulcers.

Anyone else have a package stuck with USPS?

I recently started the annual culling of knives by selling them on eBay. Almost all the knives were bought by US buyers with a few going to Europe and one going Down Under. Right now I have 2 packages stuck at the USPS sort facility in NY. Sold on the 2nd of September, shipped out on the 3rd and arr...

It's been a while since I bought a knife. In fact I've been selling off quite a few knives lately. With my health back in check I felt it was a great time to reward myself. Thanks Mr Glesser... I'd prefer polished as she's a small knife, that and since Spyderco is not making knives with Micarta scales anymore.

I collect them both... though I have to admit my Spydercos outnumber my Benchmade by a huge margin. However, truth be told I only USE spydercos and it is not because of brand loyalty. Spydercos just works better for me.

Actually that's the major bugbear I have with all multi-tools... None of them have knives that are truly ambidextrous. I wish they could put the knife in the middle of the stack and put a dual thumbstud or a hole on it. Preferably a hole of course.

Thanks doc... Must be very confusing but the electorate voted these lawmakers in so I guess they got their vote's worth. It could be worse... You could be in Singapore and not even be allowed to chew gum. LOL
