Re: which Mule steel for what

I like CPM M-4 for an all around mule. It seems to do it all.

Re: Help me pick a Military

I have Millies in M4 and S90V. Love em both.

If I was looking for another one, I would hold out for MAXAMET.

Re: MT-24 MAXAMET Review and Testing

Thanks, JIm.

Would I be correct in assuming that the new Manix 2 in Maxamet will be the same hardness and temper?

Re: which Mule steel for what

Thanks for responding.
Since I use knives strictly for cutting, toughness is irrelavent to me.

How does Maxamet compare to K390 and Rex 121?

Somewhere in between these two, perhaps??

Re: 2017 Mid-Year Product Guide

Haven't been on the forum for quite a while.

Is there any news of a MULE in CPM Rex 121?

Re: which Mule steel for what

K390 is the best yet offered for edge retention. It beats M390 and S110V

I'm holding out for CPM Rex 121!

I have a limited sprint run Military in M-4. :) :) :) One of my all time favorite knives. I'd like to see M-4 become the "standard" for the Military. :spyder: :spyder: I have a Mule Team in M-4 as well. A "Loveless classic drop point hunter" :) in M-4, four to five inch blade, wi...

The VEHO is terrific at 20X. You use it with your computer. In the full screen mode, even down at 20 the edge looks huge. At 400, the focus is super-critical, (i.e. PITA) and I have to mess with it for a couple of minutes, so I use it for final inspection only. 400 is actually more useful for razors...

Millie-CMP D-2
Millie-CPM M-4

My number 4 would be :
Millie, B-U K-390

And how about a "Big ol' honkin" 10 Inch Bowie in 0170-6 or 52100? :D

Question about this microscope. Here is a statement from the advertisement on the page your link goes to: "Light on the pocketbook and fun for the whole family, the Veho VMS-004D 400x USB Microscope provides a closer look at the world around you with either 20x or 400x magnification." I a...

To me, the VEHO digital microscope beats the dickens out of any loupe.

Inexpensive, easy to use, and works great. Takes pictures of your edges for future reference as well.

Put Halpern grips on both of mine. First one came from the factory at 17.5 degrees per side, bevels even side to side and heel to tip! :) I sharpened it to 15,000 grit then stropped to .25 micron. It will dry shave facial hair. :) Second came with BEVELS uneven side to side, and splitting axe edge a...

As far as abrasion resistance, (edge holding) 154 CM is a quantum leap over AUS, 8CR VG10 and similar. S30V is....well.....I hate the stuff. M390 and S90V are several orders of magnitude better than 154CM. And the new Mules in K390 are another order of magnitude up the scale. CPM M-4 and Elmax are b...
