My Handles

Thanks to knife maker, Bill Redd, I now have beautiful handles on my Bushcraft and my Damascus Mule. I am very happy with his work and I know I have two beautiful knives.

I literally just walked in from a visit to the SFO and I see this thread. I'll have to go back soon - The Aqua Salt is one of my favorite fixed blade knives. I'll have to get another (or two).

However, I did buy some nice things.

Lots of good points. I think the first thing that one must always remember in our line of work is the ability to talk to people. When you're in close proximity with your inmates all the time, your command presence and ability to communicate can sometimes be more effective than anything. We have a gr...

What did I buy?

I know I should know what I'm buying before I buy it, but I saw this in a consignment window at a local outdoor store and I picked it up. What model is this knife?

Darn, you guys are lucky! I thought I was finally going to get a D'Allara. Some guy advertised that he was selling his Spyderco collection on Craigslist here in Denver. We exchanged a couple of emails and I was getting excited. This morning I emailed him because his ad was no longer on Craigslist an...

I couldn't agree more. I just came from the SFO! At least I received a free gift for the money I spent.

I got into my current career in 1997, (Sheriff Department) and everyone carried some type of pocket knife. Spyderco seemed popular with my co-workers. Having spent the previous 12 years in the Marine Corps, I didn't know much about Spyderco and that they were here in the Denver area. I'm originally ...

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the guy didn't know any more about the knife than I did. Think I'll just leave it in my drawer where I had it.

Hate to rub it in, but I'm fifteen minutes from the Spyderco Factory Outlet in Golden. On another note, I just came home from Outdoor World (Bass Pro Shops) here in Denver and I didn't see one single Spyderco there. Weird that they don't have Spydercos when the company is just a few miles away.

Miles and I went to the SFO yesterday and I snapped these photos of him. I thinned my wallet by walking out of the store with an Aqua Salt plain edge black handle, Moran Drop Point black handle, and a Manix 2 combo edge. I also received an "S" as a gift from Spyderco. Not a bad day! Hope y...

I bought this BuckTool at the Camp Pendleton PX in 1996. It's been on my hip ever since. I know they're no longer made, and I know they've never gotten good reviews, but this has been a very faithful servant. I recently bought a Skeletool CX. I'ts nice, but I still haven't given it the "go ahea...
