Topic: Why would anyone use a folder as a kitchen knife?

I sometimes use my Pacific Salt as a kitchen knife at home just to practice, even if I have my chef knife and I keep it as sharp as a lightsaber. And I need to know how to use at least one of my knives as a kitchen knife because if I go to a friend's home I can bring it with me and use it instead of...

Sticky please...
It's a perfect reminder for how to act in a lot of different situations, not only buying knives... Knowing if what you want is reasonable and being firm but polite usually makes you get what you asked for.

Victorinox Huntsman ( link ) + Spyderco Pacific Salt PE. The swiss one has everything you need, the wood saw on it actually works and it is pretty cheap, while the Pacific would be the real blade, made in a completelly rustproof ( when I talk about myself I call it lazyproof... ) steel that holds an...

It depends on how deep is the damage and what steel is the blade... a picture could help.. btw it sucks when it happens, but don't panic, you can always fix it, it's just a matter of time.

I have heard that too. Not sure what it is about though. If it is to do with rattling around in the cutlery tray whilst the machine goes through a cycle, well, that makes much sense. But it might be something to do with high temperatures and detergents - in which case, erm, I don't understand, but ...

absolutely -- the SE salt I. this knife is nearly identical to the D3, but the H1 means it is capable of standing up to more abuse in terms of corrosion and rust resistance. I throw my salts in the dishwasher to clean them. I've also let them soak for a couple days in soapy water. the steel also to...

There was a sad time recently that I had to take my Lava out of rotation because I dulled it too far to recover without sitting down for 3 hours or more to reprofile it. Needless to say I haven't got that kind of time with my biggest projects all coming together at once for my final quarter in scho...

I might be totally off mark, but I always thought S90V is one of the premier steels - superior to S30V, AT-34, 154CM, et al. Not sure if my logic is flawed. I perceive ZDP-189 to be on par with S90V. As a knife nut, I often get confused about which steels are superior to others. Especially when you...

It is easy. Get a spray can of paint remover, and in 5 minutes all the paint wipes off. I used 1000 grit sand paper, and 0000 steel wool. Looks great. Took something like 15 minutes total.
Thank you... I think tomorrow I'll try!!!

It's really amazing how you do not miss the lock when you get used to the UKPK ... and it took me less than 5 minutes to get used to it...

Ok... it's really complicated ( but still better than here in italy where you can't bring a knife, not even a UKPK unless you have a valid reason... ). Now I think I will bring my UKPK, even if i'm really scared to leave it alone in my luggage...
Thank you all!

Anyone knows what's the Germany knives law?

I am going to Germany for a 4 days workshop, and I would like to bring a knife with me. I was thinking about my Cara-cara, since is the cheapest one I have and I would not like to leave an expensive one alone in my luggage... Does anyone knows if it is legal to carry such a "not so small" ...
