I think the cane/walking stick would be my first choice (I too prefer Rattan) where possible. I would back that up with a Monadnock AutoLock baton. I have 4 ASPs (including my issue one) but I have grown fond of the AutoLock because it locks mechanically instead of by friction. Also you can hold dow...

I don't expect Glock to make a .22 any time soon, so I bought a Ciener .22 kit for my 17. It works as advertized. Shoots to point of aim, even though both sights are integral with the slide, which I find impressive. It needs high velocity ammo to function properly. Mine likes Remington "Thunder...

samo, I am really bummed that you will miss that trip to Mongolia. I was really looking forward to hearing about it. I am, however, glad to hear that you will be up and around soon.

earthworm, I finally got to read the whole thread and I haven't had any problems with my Glock 30 and hi-cap mags. Pick the caliber that you can control the best, be it 9mm, .40, .45, 357SIG or whatever. The caliber doesn't matter. Marksmanship is what counts. Somebody once said, hit 'em where they'...

It's the whole hole thing. The Spyderco is the only one hand opener that doesn't bruise, cut or callous my delicate thumbs! By the by Samo, how's the leg? Tip down is the only way to go. This is purely a safety issue with me. Years ago I had a tip up liner lock (production, not custom and NOT a Spyderco) come open in my pocket and when I put on my pants it felt like a grassburr scratched my leg. It was a scratch that took seven stitches to close! The ...

I really like the Spyderco serrations and I have a bunch of them, but I think the plain edge Chinook just looks better.
