How can I determine what a particular discontinued model is worth?

I am not going to name the long discontinued Spyderco model, as I don't know if this is out of line or not, but I could not find any current threads on another forum, so I don't know if making a trade request is in the right ballpark for another model or not.
Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

I know the shows are trying to make non-knife people "notice the knife", but by carrying it knife-out, on the show Lost, Fast & furious, Against all odds & other shows they are teaching these newbies the wrong way to carry a knife. They look rediculous to a knife person to carry a ...

1980's was the first I saw one

The first movie, I saw that was in in the movie "Against all odds". I think it was the bad guy, walking through an outdoor market, when I saw that & laughed.,but how else was a movie to make the point that the guy had a pocket knife? Back then, the general population wasn't used to see...

I used to see it in movies, where they didn't wan't you to miss catching they were carying knife.

One example is the girl in "fast & furious" when they got out of their cars at the garage.

Maybe that's where they get the idea???

I remember an old bolt action knife, if you flicked it open, it was very difficult to release the lock.

How about a delica sized dyad? ~ 3" blades

I used to have the full sized dyad, but it was huge, can't carry that to the office. I have a micarta scaled smaller dyad (I don't remember the model) & it is great, except that it is just too small. I almost never carry it as I feel naked without a 3" blade. I did not buy the micro dyad as...

pimped my Delica with green G10

I have read a lot of posts here, over the last few years, about Tom Krein & his grinding skills. I finally got the money together to have him work on my Delica with green G10 & flat ground blade. He ground a splinter picker tip & beveled the spine (like that on a Calypso Jr.) Holly Cr@p ...

It's a tie between my caly3 & my flat ground D4

I think the blade shape/grind of the Caly3 is much nicer than that of the flat ground Delica4, but I like the beveled edge of the G10 on the Delica4 better than the 90 degree edge of the Caly3. So, I have to daily switch off which I am going to carry. Do I want the high ride, super rigid black clip ...

Spyderco = serrated edge

When I bought my first spyderco, 20 something years ago, it was a "standard" with serrated edge. After a few days, I thought plain edge knives were a thing of the past, except for scrapping or whitteling. I just did not understand why someone would by a spyderco with plain edge, they were ...
