Re: First Spyderco knife to obtain in 2020?

I'm not buying any Spydercos until they release the LOOOOONNNNGGG awaited LC200N Salts.

Getting a little frustrated waiting so long for a knife that I know a lot of people want.

Re: Linerless: Any issues?

No advantage to having liners in my usage and numerous advantages to linerless. My linerless knives (salts) get used FAR heavier than any other folders I own. I have never had the slightest issue with strength or integrity with linerless frn knives. Same story with G10. The main advantages for me a...

FFG LC200N in LINERLESS FRN...in lots of colors and blade variations... :)

Pretty simple, eh?

Delica is my favorite too (Wharncliffe these days)...and the Pac Salt is number 2 (for my robust cutting tasks) :)

Would love to see an LC200N ‘Salt Stretch’ in the original blade configuration.

Here’s a question. Is the Salt 2 going to get the FFG green handled LC200N treatment? That would be a very much used knife by me. Both PE and SE.
I hope so....and I hope we get a Wharnie as well. The wharnie has become my EDC.

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

1. LC200N (more in linerless FRN, please)

2. H1 (in serrated)

3. VG-10 (for an all-around cost-effective choice)

My EDC is a linerless Delica Wharncliffe in S30V (oddly enough). But that is only because it is not offered in LC200N...yet!!

Re: Is the Siren a Salt?

All I'm going to say is during these years of liner vs no liner debates, I've yet to hear someone bring up a use case that a linered knife can perform that a linerless can't. If you prefer the heft or feel, that's cool, but there isn't anything Endura 4's can do that E3's can't. Knives with liners ...

Re: Is the Siren a Salt?

My opinion on the liner vs linerless knives is that a folder is really not intended for 'hard use'. Sure, some folders can handle more 'hard use' than other folders, but all pale in comparison to fixed blade knives. So, to me, the linerless is perfect...since it is lightweight, can handle normal use...

Definitely on my 'to buy' list.

Just curious, but which do you prefer, Lance? The Waterway or The Siren when you're out on the Kayak.

Re: Riddle me this!

Ok, one more example. You have 100 doors and one of them has a prize. You select a door. The host then gives you a chance to switch your 1 door for ALL the other 99. Do you switch? Of course you do. Now lets add one more step in. This time you also get to select 1 door. There is a 1% chance you hav...

Re: Riddle me this!

Fair enough. If we ever end up in a casino and someone is playing this game then you can bet on the guy that draws one card and I’ll take the guy who has 51. It will probably work out 50/50 like you are imagining. Bring your ATM card just in case though. :p Clearly I’m being a smartass (hopefully i...

Re: Riddle me this!

When you choose a door initially, you have a 1/3 chance of selecting the winning door. Once a losing door (of the other two) has been eliminated, when you change your choice to the remaining door, you have in essence selected both doors...giving you a 2/3 chance of selecting the winning door. With ...

Re: Riddle me this!

If it's between doors 1 and 2, you have a 50% chance regardless. What am I missing? Just like if you flip a coin 10 times and get heads every time. The probability of getting heads on the 11th toss is still 50%. When you choose a door initially, you have a 1/3 chance of selecting the winning door. ...

Yeah...I agree. It's an interesting problem. What information you have and WHEN you have it is important.
BTW, Your hockey puck problem is super interesting...and challenging. I know we have to start by weighing 4 pucks vs 4 pucks...and then go from there. Anyway...

Re: Riddle me this!

Oooh I love these. My favourite one is the Monty Hall problem: Suppose you're on a game show, and you're given the choice of three doors: Behind one door is a car; behind the others, goats. You pick a door, say No. 1, and the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door, say No. 3, w...
