Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

I have never understood why people get upset at a company for not making what they want. IMHO Spyderco is one of the most reputable companies out there and I feel they walk the most difficult line (with success) between making money and making customers happy. As many of others have mentioned here j...

Re: Spyder Classics: The C-29 Cricket model

Sal said they were not happy with some aspects of the FRN model so it was discontinued. Having both the SS and FRN models, I can say that the SS version is much thinner and feels more solid. I’d like to see a titanium model, please. If you don’t have a Cricket, get one and use it. In using it, you ...

Re: Spyder Classics: The C-29 Cricket model

The carbon fiber cricket was my first Spyderco. I was won over with that. It was the only knife I had for several years. I would up losing it. I eventually found my way back and found they had been updated to the steel version. While reluctant to like it won me over even more than the carbon fiber v...

Re: MAP pricing policy favors amazon. Bad for vendors (that are not Amazon) and consumers.

I will avoid Amazon if at all possible. With Amazon there is always risk in getting counterfeit or old/used stock. With local shops (my local favorite is (Cutlery Shoppe also online) you get a real person and supporting a local business that has a personal relation with Spyderco. You know what you a...

Re: Any blade play in the New Green Pac Salt?

Sadly, it is the same with me. The problem is, when is the current EU stock be replenished? Here the knives don't move as fast as in the US... Either you find a new vendor or you may wait years for the usual shop of yours to rotate stock. Most if not all the US is out of stock ck as well. My guess ...

Re: Native 5: Signature Folder vs Lightweight ?

The G10 Natives are now linerless. This is copy form Spyderco website product description. "The Native 5’s linerless handle utilizes textured dark blue G-10 scales that are the signature color of Spyderco’s elite family of CPM S110V knives. To ensure convenient carry and instant access, the handle i...

Re: Buying good knives twice

I have done this as well. I have had 3 para 2 in my life. It appears to check off all the boxes for me but i always come up underwhelmed when I get one. I have also made the mistake of try Vegemite twice in my life. I guess I repressed my memory of how bad it tasted and tried it again. Now I am twic...

Re: It's time for a new Cricket

My first Spyderco was the Carbon Fiber Cricket from the late 90’s. Loved that thing. Eventually lost it. By the time I got round to getting another one the stainless version was out. While I was not thrilled about this new edition I cam to like it even more. Thinner and easier in the pocket. I did e...

Re: Cricket - due for an upgrade?

Titanium with H1 serrated blade. Lighter, still retain thinness and a serrated edge that will last and last. IMHO larger not better for this model. This model shins with it easy to carry ways. Thin and unobtrusive. Fits in coin pocket and considered almost cute by non knife people. The blade shape i...

Re: Trademark issue?

I actually work for a company that enforces IP for various brands. It would blow peoples minds how much is out there. Some obvious but some are very savvy and deceptive. As someone else pointed out earlier (and Sal affirmed) that if you don't defend your Trademark then it could become considered "ab...

Re: FRN Back Lock ONLY?

We have a few non lock-back FRN models in-the-works. But please keep on mind that FRN is not a rigid and prone to twist, which can make locks that come in from the side more prone to accidental unlocking. So it depends on the model, the use of two liners, size, etc. sal Thank you for the informatio...

There used to be a FRN liner lock Cricket and there is currently a FRN Squarehead liner lock
Thanks. The cricket was a ways back. I was unaware fo the squarehead in FRN. I would love to see more variety than this though. Nothing wrong with back locks just like me some variety and FRN.

FRN Back Lock ONLY?

I have noticed that Spyderco only has back locks on any product that is not a fixed blade or Slipit. I was just wondering why no other lock types on FRN models. I know the Manix has the CBB lock but that is FRCP (personally not a fan). I love FRN but would like some lock variety as well. So what giv...

Re: No love for the Lil Native?

I am looking forward to the slip joint as well. I hope they do a liner-less G10 like they have on the new Regular Size native g10. That would all bring the weight down to make it perfect. Any idea on release date on the slip?

Re: Great Customer Service Is Hard To Come By...

I can't recommend more highly. I live local so I pick mine up in person. No store front but he will help in whatever way he can. I will only buy my Spydies from him. If not in stock I will wait. Usually the lowest if not among the lowest price as well.

Re: Poll: Favorite FRN/FRCP color

I'd take black and foliage green. Surprised at how unpopular black is. It's my go to, with green being an occasional carry. Black has been over done so much it is tiring. Sal even mentioned he is tired of it, as well. How about a knife in Vantablack. If not familiar with it a quick google will show...

Re: Aqua Salt

Yesterday I was with a yellow Aqua Salt in my hand. Great knife in the hand, very light also. No chance of letting me borrowing it for the next say 20-30 years:) The lc200N does look interesting. Not sure how long I want to wait. Patience has never been one of my virtues. Actually now that I think ...
