I had our photographer get this for you. The top knife is the Manix 2 XL, the middle knife is the Manix 2, and the bottom one is the Native 5.

I am by no means a hunter, but most modern hunting knives are what I would call general purpose outdoors knives. They are not designed for processing animals. They are designed for woodsmenship, i.e., batoning, building traps, and fieldwork. You can certainly use them to process game, but as you not...

Funny you should ask Peruna ... because of allergies I used a non dairy soy whip (a little unconventional I know) and the Native had to work fairly hard to get through it. As the test progressed it became harder and harder to penetrate the whip ??? However the blade profile may have been a factor a...

I am curious how much the whipped cream played a role in this test? Did the viscosity of the cream and the blade profile of the Sebbie vs. the Native make a difference?

Dodo scales

Okay, so the beloved Dodo is back. YAY!!! It is orange. BOO!!! I am buying one anyway. Can anyone, politely and within the bounds of the rules of the forum point me in the right direction of correcting the color of the scales of the Dodo...either to a blue or a carbon fiber?

Thanks!

It was Thomas Harris, and his mention of Hannibal Lecter's use of the Spyderco Harpy and several other Spyderco models in several of his novels, that first made me aware of the brand. Ah, having not read the book, I would be unaware of that. But, I can definitely see how Harris would use the brand ...

Spyderco mentioned in Crichton's "Micro"

When Michael Crichton died, his computer had two incomplete novels on it. The last of these, "Micro" was released this month. It was about 25% complete when Crichton died. It was finished by Richard Preston. I have not finished it and am reading it on my Kindle. Anyway, at location 692 (8%...

I usually carry a slipjoint. Working in an office environment, I found that using a one-hand opening knife was socially unacceptable. Now, I know many of you might take umbrage with that. But, given that I own my business and do not want to lose customers, I felt it best to change to traditional sli...

Thanks for the head's up. I went in for one, too. I think I will have to watch the pre-orders for 2012, now though. I plan on adding the M390 Millie and with the 35VN Para and a few customs on order....ouch.

Fake UKPK

Beware of this UKPK on that certain auction site: http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-SPYDERCO-KNIFE-BLK-G10-LEAF-CPMS30V-SLIP-IT-NEW-/280672052056?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item41595ba358 It looks real enough, but if you look, it has no cut outs to switch the clip for left-hand carry. That most certainly...
