Factory Sharpening...wow

I just got my SS Native II back from CO, and the edge that they put on it was razor sharp. Is it that easy to use the sharpmaker? I have laid off getting one because I didn't want to mess up the spyder edge on my knives. But, if the sharpmaker can put an edge on my knife like this then I think I bet...

A small spydie

I was looking for a small Spydie as an EDC...to appease the sheeple. I like the mouse, but I don't need anything that $$$. How's the cricket as an EDC? What's your favorite small spydie?>

Blade Art

IF this has been posted already, forgive me, I have been away. I found this while I was looking for a mouse (spyderco that is).

I have used mine in as many ways, if not more, than my Native. At first I rarely carried it, but now I take the Harpy instead of the Native. I work in an research facility and I'm always off doing odd jobs where I can use the Harpy. I've grown to really like it. I find ways to use it.

Hey Chinook...are you cutting each blade of grass with your spydie? That'll keep ya busy Me...hmmm, I use my Native (my only spydie ) to cut just about everything. In fact, I ...

The extent of my knife safety lessons are usually, "Hey, that's really sharp, so be careful." Sometimes I throw in, "Quit messing around before I have to take you to the hospital." Sad, but true.

Get one that looks good to you, and go from there. You'll learn to love any spydie you get. The knife may be there longer than the man anyway.

I just recently purchased a knife which happened to be my first spyderco (the Native II). I needed a new knife, and I happened to catch the Maxim review of the spyderwrench, so I checked the spyderco site. Aesthetically, the knives were very appealing, so that is what was behind my first purchase. I...

I think you just went through a rite of passage among men. There are always going to be more opportunities, and I hardly think that you've wasted a year. I think Alan1212 said it best.

Hmmm...sounds like something I'd like. The cricket-blade would be more desirable, but I think I'd rather have the 440 steel. Now, I just need to track one down. Neat little knife from what I've seen.

I'm 27. I've had knives ever since I was about 6 or 7. Got my first lockback at around 11 yrs old. I still have it...it was Buck knock-off hunting knife (brand was Sharp). First serrated blade was a Schrade (POS), and I just recently got my first Spydie. Before that my EDC was a Victornix Swiss Army...

Hey Xtreme, I was looking for a knife for much the same purpose. I ended up getting the SS native. At first I got the lightweight, but I went and traded it for the SS. I was actually looking for an endura or dragonfly, but the dealer I went to didn't carry a lot of spydercos. Anyway, what I like abo...
