Color me G10. But I'd be enthusiastic about either.

Re: Whatever happened to BG42?

I have three Sebenzas with BG-42 blades (large and small Regular; large Classic 2000). As a subjective impression because I've never done any sort of comparative testing, these CRK BG-42 blades, which I think I remember were advertised as 62 on the Rockwell C scale, will hold an edge for an almost u...

Re: Why is the PM2 more popular when the Manix 2 is objectively better?

I personally don't like the lock. If it was a back lock or a compression lock I would own more and use them more. This (strongly). I didn't like the BB lock a whole lot when it was first introduced almost 20 years ago and 20 years later my thumbs have gotten very arthritic, which makes unlocking th...

Re: What Is In Bar Keepers Friend?

Somewhat off topic, my parents had a set of dinnerware - plates, bowls, etc. - that they had been using for decades. The started out kind of a creamy off-white color, but had developed a grey patina over the years and would get really hot in the microwave in 15 to 30 seconds. It was steel from thei...

Re: What Is In Bar Keepers Friend?

I sure do. Because BKF has some superb polishing effects to it when used properly. It is amazing on stainless cookware, Knives or anything else with stainless steel. That stuff will take a really gunked up blade regardless of what you have on it and make it look almost factory new. Bar Keepers Frie...

Hold on now. China is a big place. And there is quite a spectrum of quality available. You are painting with a mighty big brush. I have all kinds of great products from China. I have a 3D printer that absolutely kicks butt and I get great customer service on it just for starters. You do have to be ...

1. It came wrapped in a yellow towel... kind of odd, but ok. Is this a National Knives thing?
Beats heck out of bubble wrap that just goes into the landfill. I use them for all the usual chores. I think it's a creative way to reduce the amount of stuff I throw away. :clapping-hands

Re: Knifecenter Lil Native Smooth G10 and Cruwear dropping tomorrow

Got mine today. Super-cute and really nicely done. I have to say that the smooth G10 is *really* slick, as in slippery, especially on such a small knife. I realized when I opened the box that I was sort of expecting rounded edges on the G10, like the Shaman (which would not have helped with the slip...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Here's something I missed earlier - maybe I'm the only one who did. This CPM 15V Manix 2 is described by Spyderco as part of a family of knives with 15V blades. That would seem to all but guarantee that we'll see a PM2 and Para 3 with 15V blades, as well as some of the other usual Golden-made suspec...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Well, it looks like options are about to be limited to ebay. I don't see many more drops happening at this point. What makes you say that? I’m pretty sure that dealers get more than one shipment of sprints. We’ve only started seeing drops of 30 or more in the last couple days. It would surprise me ...

Was there a Knifecenter Shaman with Cruwear and smooth G10? Google's not showing me anything on that search.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Knives Ship Free had some, very briefly. I had one in my cart but the knife went OOS again, by the time I entered payment info and tried to check out. This sure is “fun”. KSF was the only vendor I got a notice from. That was around 4:25 pm ET. I saw the Outlook notification pop-up while I was on th...

Re: KW Excl: Mil CF/Ti R.I.L. S90V = Mid May?!

I really want to like it because it combines so many things I love but something is lost when you make the Military heavier and this thing has some heft to to. I think I'd just assume have regular liner and full CF than titanium. We already have an all-CF S90V, though - even if a little hard to fin...

Re: CS Exclusive Orange Paramilitary 2 DLC CTS-XHP

1 week late to buying one new from CS, and people are already considering paying $225 for this knife!?! That seems bonkers to me... I agree but.... This was the highest priced PM2 sprint to date. There's a lot of flippers out there who bought multiples and need to recoup now. I for one hope CS fill...
