One of the Good Guys

I have sent knives to Steve before. He has always done a great job for me. He made a mistake. He did a tip down not a tip up as I requested. I thought I had marked the wrong box. He checked and it was his mistake. I sent it back and he made the change, refunding the shipping. Let me recomend th...

I EDC the Chinook. I feel confident in the back slash move. It is a heavy knife but the same strategy for supporting a gun holds true for a knife. Wear a good thick belt. Weight will not be a factor. I also love the Civilian and carry it sometimes, however, I just feel more confident with the capabi...

Has any body found a leather sheath for the Rock Salt?

Not a tough crowd, we just love our Spyders. They are quality and functional. I don't really use knives like some here. I am retired but still carry for SD and some occasional tasks. I carry a glock where It is legal to do so but It is nice to know that my Civilian or Chinook is close at hand. Enjoy...

One advantage of the Civilian is the shock value when it is produced. Similar to that of racking in a shell in a shotgun. I seems to make and aggressor back off and think twice. If not it will surely do it's job for you. :D

Chinook III is a good SD choice however when I grab a Spider for SD, I always seem to chose my Civilian.

Do you use lanyards

I love my lanyards. They make it so easy to produce your spider from a pocket. I am not talented enough to make them myself so I buy them ready made. They are a great addition to my knife nut collection. What do you guys and gals think?

DMgangl, I too love my Civilian. Like you, I carry it when I can't have my Glock in my pocket. However, the delicate looking tip on the Civilian is deceiving. It is stronger than it looks. It can be used in a pecking maneuver to allow one to escape after causing much damage. This knife is not design...

Hawk Lovers

I am a certified Persian Army member. However, I am being converted into the Hawk Bill Club. My first was the Civilian. Great knife. My next was the Superhawk. What a great design. The full flat grind is spectacular. The down side is that I like to play with my knives (fondle if you will):cool, them...

Thank you M, I have been trying to convince her of that very thing. I carry my Glock and my :spyder: 's but she, like many women, is shy of things that go boom. Congrats for convincing your love to keep herself safe. I am still working on it.

Thanks , I will pass it on. I have given her the knives not only to put a weapon in her cute little hands but more so to raise her level of awareness. Avoidance of danger is better than facing it head on. If she is aware of her surroundings, she will never have to deal with the things that could hur...

Wife, Armed and Dangerous

My wife is a nurse, she walks from the hospital to the parking lot in the dark. During that time she carries in her hand a pink Native. To carry in her every day purse I gave her a choice of my Kopas. Apple Coral, Pacific Blue, or Turquoise. She chose the Turquoise, she’s not stupid. Please don’t te...

I also am always playing with, 'fondling', my knives. When watching TV I will have a :spyder: in my hand opening and closings it. My first :spyder: was an auto. I thought it was cool to push a button and see the result. Then I got hooked on 'the hole'. It's just fun, and I think a much more efficien...

Again I agree, and I was speaking more from a gun perspective than knife which I should not do on this forum. My concern for this forum is the tightening of knife carry laws. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't this thread started by Garage Boy one of our :spyder: brothers, that is worried about bei...

You guys are 100% right. There could never be a confiscation of guns or knives in this country but a CCW Permit is discretionary as are drivers licenses. These could be terminated with the stroke of a pen as could knife carry laws. I don't really believe this would happen no matter what party is in ...

You are so right. James Keating has a DVD out which explains and demonstrates this knife. It is on his Modern Knife series found on his web site. It is worth the $. This is the most incredible knife I own. STR has it right now and will pimp it for me to make it even more unique. Not that it needs it...

I live in Florida, a very knife friendly State. I used to feel secure in this fact. However, hold on to your hats and knives. The new administration is very weapon unfriendly. He is also surrounding himself with people of like mind. God help us all.
