Creating a burr seems to be more suited for hand sharpening on a benchstone, because it's the only way you know you've hit the edge given you can't hold the blade at a perfect angle, and you don't know what the previous angle is. With croc stick type sharpener the angle is a lot more accurate/repeat...
I have a vegan coworker who recently made the change to eating some dairy products because he broke his collar bone and it took about 6 months to heal. His doctor said it was because he was basically malnourished because of his diet. I think at some point there's a line that's crossed for the sake ...
It's no different from the many other historical events you can buy photos of in the grand scheme of things.
But do you have any actual examples of this by "mostly foreign nationals", or is this one of those "I heard from my friend's brother's uncle's dog" kind of thing?
I don't think the economy for more local stores will work. There are only certain amount of demands, and more stores simply reduce the share of each store, who have to raise price to cover the cost now that their volume is down. Before long you have knife shops like eyeglass shops, one per block and...
Someone told me that the Chinese and Pakistanis and others in theory could make a knife that is equal to the level of quality of a knife made in Japan or Germany or Sweden or the USA, but, the market demands that the stuff made in China and Pakistan is cheap, so they would not do it, unless you wan...
Thanks for that link...interesting stuff. now I just need to find a good reputable place to get one of each brand. See which I prefer. I got the "original" from ebay (direct Japanese seller), quality is, well if it was from China you'd have dogpile of people saying what piece of crap it is, but sin...
Okay, the prices sound workable but at that range I am deadly effective against all manner of bug with a pump BB gun. Shooting just air. I know people who use high powered PCP air rifles to shoot bugs, they will actually flatten bugs on the spot, although a bit messy if that bug is particularly goo...
Here is the thing, if you want no play the pin would have to be exact same size as hole on blade, however since the lock arm moves in a radius fashion, an exact sized pin isn't going to fit into the hole (even if it doesn't an exact sized pin is still going to be difficult fit). SOG revolver use a s...
Yeah I wonder if this is going to come back and bite Spyderco. Someone just said the edge can bend pushing against fingernail, that's like a straight razor, and you wouldn't even cut paper with one of those.
As far as cutting goes there is no way 1095 can hold up to the modern stainless, and in kabar they are left pretty soft, 56ish hrc. However there are carbon steel fanatics that will have you believe 1095 is the best there is, so take some of the claims out there with grain of salt.
You can't judge any historical figure with today's standard, too much has changed in our value, in his day pillage and murder in the name of king and country is perfectly honorable. If you do every one of them can be made out to be some sort of sociopath/psychopath. 200 years from now people will pr...
Ah EZ cracker, google it and watch the infomercial, hilarious. With pretty much any kitchen gadget commercials, if anyone is really that clumsy they should probably stay out of the kitchen to begin with, lest either burn down the house or finish with a few less fingers.
