I'd prefer micarta or G-10, but I'd settle for anodized Ti :)

Thanks. Yeah, starting to remember why I sold my old micarta version - weight coupled with difficulty opening and closing the knife one handed. Though I do believe the micarta version to be heaps better looking, I like the reduced weight and FFG of the new one. And based on the YouTube clip I ...

anyone carry or use a large Persian 2?

This one has been tempting me for a while now, but I don't hear much about it. Any complaints?

I assume with G-10, it's a pocket eater. But not to be scorned on that account. I had one in micarta previously, but sold it for reasons still unclear to me.

Anyway, for those who have them, let me know ...

At 50 pieces per month, I imagine each vendor would only get a few pieces. But unless I misunderstood my communication with CS, they are not shipping at all at this time. Given where I'm at on the pre-order list, I doubt I'll see mine until next year.

There are quite a few knife shops in Japan, especially in Kyoto where I'm living at the moment. You can find Spyderco, Benchmade, and many others, but the selction is limited - often older models because they don't sell (picked up a green Lum a while back - the owner said it had been in the case a ...

At the moment, I imagine none of the dealers have them. Pre-order only for a while, but once the lists became too long, the dealers placed a temporary block because this knife is only limited production - 50 pieces a month I believe. With only 50 pieces coming out a month, it will take a while ...

The new CF sprint is the only version I've had the pleasure of owning. And it is flat OUTSTANDING!! Out of the 40+ Spyderco knives I've owned over the years, this one is my favorite.

Pick one up and see for yourself.

Thanks for the review.

I once took about a year off and sold everything I had, save for a Ladybug. I also stayed away from the forums. Then one day decided I wanted something a little larger than a Ladybug. I found something, but came across some others in the process. Back to the forums and my collection increased much ...

Emerson La Griffe and HAK (Hideaway Knife).

But neck carry is not always practical for me, so for both knives, I had kydex sheaths made for belt carry and find I often opt for this mode to wearing around my neck.

Thanks. Too much outlay recently on knives, so have to wait a bit for this one. I don't know about anyone else, but the fluted millie is a MUST HAVE.

Haven't had time to check for the answer, but is the fluted military a sprint or limited production folder?

Thanks.

Sage series. I keep hoping I'll warm up to them, but always find something else more interesting.

And any Manix. I know, I know, a fantastic knife for many, but does absolutely nothing for me.

To my knowledge, it's the same sprint - the handle material was changed for reasons best known to Spyderco. The same for the Szabo Folder due out later this year. It had G-10 in the Amsterdam photos, but will have CF much like the Sage 1, I believe. And the color of the Sage 3 was black in those ...

Definitely get the Shabaria while you still can, then pick up a CF Lum. Not to take anything away from the Lum, it's very nice. But the Shabaria is an amazing and unique piece of functional art. Not to mention a sprint run!

Couldn't have said it any better. Was and still am extremely impressed ...

Thanks Roman. I agree about the bolsters Scatches appear out of nowhere. I guess the reason for asking was that I thought maybe moisture might get trapped in the plastic and cause problems. Though if you're checking periodically, maybe no problem. Maybe, right?

knife storage...

Most of the knives I have are users, but for my recent purchases (Persian (red) and Shabaria) I have decided to just store for the time being. Curious as to whether I should leave them in the plastic/bubble wrap inside the box or remove them from the plastic and just sit them in the box. No ...

At one point I had talked myself out of this one. Then saw the photos -the CF weave and open construction- and quickly changed my mind. Now rethinking my next order. I know it's limited production and can wait awhile, but I don't think I can :D

A fine tribute indeed.

do yourself a favor and spend a few more bucks to get the white micarta version. I'm not big on CE either, but it doesn't detract with this one.
