First, congratulations on completing your EMT class. As someone who kinda backed into EMS around 19 years ago, I assure you it will be a rewarding choice.

Now, to the question at hand, after many years of 911 and transport carry, I would recommend the PS version of the Delica/Endura for a single ...

Used to be anything bladed but have become very "brand loyal" to Spyderco over the past few years. I just really like 'em and greatly respect Sal and the rest of the Spydie Crew. I do not have a problem with buying other brands, this is just my preference.

It will definitely grow on you. I started with a Gen. 1 Endura many years ago. I resisted the Military and even bashed it to my friends for a long time. I then made the "mistake" of buying a Military. I say mistake because I now have 28 of them in all different variations making it a very expensive ...

I started collecting about 20 years ago. For a long time I bought anything with an edge. About 10 years ago I began focusing on Spyderco and a few other brands. Then, a couple of years ago I sold everything I could find that wasn't Spyderco to buy more Spydies. I primarily buy whatever strikes my ...

She went baring her teeth in an all out fight it sounds like. It saddens me to hear of anyone losing a Spydie of any kind, but especially one of my favorites, the Military. Good luck to you and your new companion when she gets to you!

Ditto on Poseidon's new keychain knife!! :D

The D2 Para is an excellent knife in it's own right. Being a Millie nut , it's hard for me not to compare the two but I think they should be considered individually. The Para lock is great and the D2 steel is simply one of my personal favorites. The size of the Para will tend to raise fewer eyebrows ...

I most definitely EDC at LEAST one Military everyday, everywhere. I use it for almost everything and have gotten no adverse reactions. Probably due to the mostly rural area I live and work in. Gotta love the D2, BG42, S90V,........ :D

:First one was actually two. :p Somehow had enough money in 1992 to buy a yellow FRN Rescue and a black FRN SE Endura. Carried the Rescue for many years. It has now become a safe queen, even though the yellow isn't as bright as it used to be. Now the Endura is a different matter. As far as I can ...

First of all, welcome to the forum Element.

You can't go wrong with either of these choices. I prefer the N2 on a personal level just because of the steel (S30V vs VG-10 on the N3). I also like the fact that it is made in Golden(vs Seki N3). All that aside, if you want more of a hand filling knife ...

The Endura for me. It was my first Spydie in SE(@16 yrs. ago) and I still carry THAT knife daily. Used to be all in for SE. Not knocking that but over the last few years I have migrated toward PE. I do have several CE blades that get pocket time. I have also come to appreciate the Delica although I ...

I'm glad you came through okay. It's a good thing to have equipment you can count on when you need it. I don't know about the rest of you folks out there but I get a great deal of comfort just knowing that my Spydie is in my pocket.

Long live the American spirit of survival!

Seriously though, the Captain is a fine blade. It is just a little different. I would suggest handling a Captain prior to purchasing one. BTW welcome, and enjoy your stay!
