Just some impressions...:

I second that, it rides very "small" in the pocket. Not nearly as bulgy as it appears.


Ergos are great, choke up, index-finger in choil, sabre, reverse, all very comfy and easy to move. It feels astonishingly light in hand.

But it IS a serious piece of steel, make no mistake about it!

My guess is, that the reporter in question just rewrote, what a security guard told them.

Picture a knifenut saying:
"...it was a Spyderco VG10, fully serrated...."
Thats just the way talk, dont we?

Have the 7, a Mini-Commander and a CQC15.
Like them all, but the EmersonOpener made by Spyderco ist far more reliable, in my experience.

I like the style, and the philosophy behind the knives.

But I would never abandon my Spydies :-)

Hi all, after a long journey from one sharpening system to the next I finally arrived at the sharpmaker. At first I wasnt really impressed, till I realised, that the lack of attained sharpness wasnt the sharpmakers fault at all. It was the inconsistent and sometimes strange degrees, which the makers...

In deed, it has a smal secondary bevel, firt it was ground to zero, but with some use (and freshen up the sharpnes via ceramic rod) the SB developed, with no negative reluts in its cutting ability.

It was just a try, to see if it would be possible. I used just waterstones, starting with 280 grit to get the new grind, then moved to 800/1000 to even it out and finished with a 6000 stone. After that I polished on an old leather beld loaded with simple dried steel polish. The whole process took ab...

The standard-Endura has enough stock for this kind of grind, the FFG would be too thin:
