Just to clarify, Blade HQ is a solid company!! CS is outstanding. Hand-Tools gave me the "dear john" I still don't have the CC refund, or at least showing up from 2 days ago? I had the same experience with Hand-tools, ordered a fluted military which they showed a large quantity in stock a...

I stopped in there when I went to my brothers Med school graduation in TN, cool place, its quite large. Its a great place to handle just about anything you are considering purchasing, they have most every brand. Pretty steep pricing on most of the stuff I handled, seemed like it was all marked msrp....

All black Windmill Delta, my brother got it for me 2 years ago for Christmas, been carrying it daily since then without a single problem. Like most butane lighters if you hold the flame on a long time the metal will get hot.

If I lost it I would buy another without question.

GoMer since this has been resolved, if you choose to you may delete this thread by choosing edit on the first post and deleting it. There seems little reason to continue this thread since all is well. Of course that is up to you. There seems little reason to continue beating a dead horse. Just my 2...

Jim from Howe's knife shop has contacted me and my issue has been resolved, I am sending the knife back and it will be replaced with another example of the sprint. As I stated I have received nothing but excellent customer service from Howe's, per our emails Jim is a very stand up guy and I would be...

I can understand why a dealer wouldn't want to accept returns, although as a consumer I feel differently about that. But even a dealer who won't accept returns should be willing to inspect a knife. I simply wouldn't buy a collector's item such as this from anyone who wouldn't inspect my purchase. I...

I disagree with you, respectfully. Steel would have to be held at that temp for an extended period of time to affect HT at all. Sure it may get hot enough to temper, but the temp is not sustained long enough to actually change the heat treat. So you are saying that if I took the blade out and hit i...

Deacon, I fully agree with you on the return policy for the sprints even production models. I feel its not fair for dealers to have worry about taking back a knife when a customer is not happy for some reason beyond the dealers control. I also fully agree with what you said about the pre-shipment in...

This thread is in no way meant to bad mouth Howes, I received nothing but excellent service from them and I could not be happier with how my order was handled. I read and understood the rules listed on the site prior to placing my order, any concerns after the fact fall on me, not Howes. I am sorry ...

Did you ask him for a refund or replacement knife? The problems you're describing come from a manufacturer, not the vendor but vendors usually back what they sell then deal with the manufacturer for their satisfaction. That's how I understand it anyway. Jack I did not ask Tom for a refund, my email...

This isn't even my knife and I'm upset for you. Howe's should do more for you IMO. Plug for Cutlery Shoppe. Jeff will check out a knife before sending it if you request it. I never have but I've heard others say he does that. But even if he doesn't I think he accepts returns like your example here....

If you place your orders with SpydercoVT, I'm pretty sure he hand inspects every knife before it goes out. Also, if you call and ask them, a lot of places will check them out for you first. I have bought a few knives from Tom, hes great to deal with, however, the other sprint I mentioned with probl...

Spyderco fully serrated clip it rescue with the molded FRN clip, bought it at shooters world and I rode my bicycle, had to be right around 15-16(33 now) years old. At that time I was around some guys and in scouts and we were doing quite a bit of rock climbing and I was told me fully serrated was th...

Your knife sounds like a mess. Not only did the guy grinding it screw everything possible up, but the person sharpening it got their job wrong too while the person putting the G-10 on also had issues. And to top it all off they got the blade dirty (blue dirt?). I don't really recall seeing a ...

pretty disappointed in my Carpenter para 2 sprint :(

Update......Jim from Howe's has contacted me and my issue is being resolved, again, his customer service is excellent! Grey para 2 just arrived last night, I am less than happy with it. There are some indentations in the g-10 like it was pressed hard against something, the blade spine is not ground...
