Great video, Jason. It's funny, my first Spyderco was a Salt 1 PE. Now I'm waiting for a Delica 4. :)

I completely agree with your opinion on the rivet construction. I can detect a little side to side play on my Salt 1 right now, but it's not enough for me to send it in for repair.

I also am not ...

VIDEO - Spyderco Salt 1 vs. Delica 4

Hey everyone,
I made a video comparing my new Salt 1 to my EDC Delica 4. The things I point out are probably not news to most of you Spydie experts, but it might be some good knife porn anyway. Here's the video: http://www.geartalkwithjasonklass.com/2 ... eview.html

Clip on my Salt 1

I recently got a Salt 1 with full Spyderedge and I really like it so far, except for one thing. The clip seems a lot tighter than the ones on my Delicas. I find that's it's more difficult to pull out of my pocket because it kind of "sticks". Does anyone else have this happen to them? Could I loosen ...

Wobbly Salt

Donovan,
I just discovered the same thing with my Salt 1. There's a lot of side-to-side play in the blade. I live near the Spyderco headquarters and am going to try to take it there this week to see if they can fix or replace it.

Video With a Cameo of my Salt 1

Here's a video I did field testing a wood burning stove with a quick cameo of my my new Salt 1. It was a little nervous at first since it's the first time it's been on camera but I think it did alright. AWESOME knife with full Spyderco edge.

To the OP,

I'll put it this way: if you can somehow get your Salt to rust, I am positive that Sal, Kristi, & Crew would love to hear about it.
Hmmmm...sounds like a challenge to me...

Stop beating around the bush! Just answer my question, is it or is it not rustproof! :D

New Salt 1 on the way...Have a question.

I recently scored a free plain edge Salt 1 (which I've always wanted) and have a question. I know the blade is totally rustproof, but are all the interior components (screws, etc.) as rust proof as the blade?

Thanks David! Yikes, now I understand the comment above about the website needing to be updated. That is a truly gruesome site design! Man, I wish I could spend 30 minutes with Tom and work on a redesign with him.

Lock not flush

Yep, my EDC Delica 4 is the same way. I actually posted here about it a while back. But it doesn't cause any discomfort or performance issues so I just let it ago.

What did their "factory seconds" selection look like? How were the prices on those?

I'm not sure I saw any. There were only 4 or 5 cases of knives. One was marked "clearance" but I didn't look because they weren't models I was interested in. I was looking for an Atlantic Salt but they weren't ...

UPDATE: Just got back from the Outlet

Well, I just got back and have to say I was somewhat disappointed. The prices weren't as good as I thought they would be. I have seen much better deals on eBay. For example, they had my Delica for at $69, but I got the same one on eBay for $40 with minimal shipping and no tax. Oh well. :(

Open Invitation

Ok then. I'll check it out next weekend. Also, as an open invitation to all the other members of the forum, if you are looking for a specific blade and want me to see if they have it at the outlet or at the annual sale, I'd be happy to look for it for you. Just let me know what you want, I'll see if ...

Spyderco Outlet--Should I go?

I've recently discovered that I live only 20 min. away from the Spyderco outlet in Golden, CO. Has anyone been there and gotten a good deal? Should I go--is it worth it? I'm looking for an Atlantic Salt on the cheap and am wondering if I would get a better deal there than on eBay.

Hey JD,
I kind of felt the same way. I was just wondering if anyone had some ideas that wouldn't interfere with the ergonomics of opening the blade.

Creative uses for the Spyderco "Hole"

Just out of curiosity, has anyone come up with a clever use for "the hole"? Not a modification, like adding a trimmed-down cord lock to it to make it easier to open--I mean an alternate use. Something like lashing cord through it to attach to a stick to make a spear or something (I know that's a ...
