Re: Would anyone else like to see the Delica get a forward finger choir?

Lonehunter, do you own a Caribbean or a Rockjumper? I'm with you on sharpening choils. They seem like a useless vanity to me, and one that gets in the way of function. A good knife should wear it's years (and sharpenings) as a badge of honor. No I don’t even know what those are . I currently own pe...

Re: Would anyone else like to see the Delica get a forward finger choir?

Spyderco user since ‘90 , I absolutely hate finger choils ! So no . Personally I’d like to see edge go all the way to the handles , oh and no sharpening choils either , those things get caught all the time cutting up rags . Thanks for asking !

Re: Educate me on spyderco knifes

I do pretty much all those activities, I’d be happy with an Endura or perhaps Delica for all those tasks , in fact I often do use one . Pretty much any blade will cut a seat belt , something in 30 years of working for the FD, I’ve done maybe six times , and my company covered parts of two expressway...

First two,are nib , middle one has clip wear on end due to no box . Can’t find my blue Dodo, or blue Delica with old plastic clip ,that’s odd .

Here’s my two Blue Spyderhawks , VG 10 . My old user and a NIB back up , both just sit in the safe now.... for some reason when I turn the pic it becomes to large to post , sorry .94CD0E73-8FAB-4940-A260-E1099679EB07.jpeg I have one of the Blue VG-10, plain edged Spyderhawks myself ( a user). I used a file on my Salt , went pretty quick ,a few minutes . Then I hit it with some emery cloth , to smooth it out .

I see the oldest join date and one shared by a few here including Sal , is Sept 24 2004 . Was that the start date then ?

Re: Why did you join?

Got my first Spyderco in ‘91, always carried and used pocket knives , but that Delica was a changing point for me , as far as what a pocket knife could be . Own ,many brands, but it’s been mostly Spyderco’s that I routinely carry, including 28 years on the FD till I retired two years ago . I was on ...

Much respect for wild land guys ! I was a FF in NY for 30 years , carried everything from SAK’s , to Delicas ,Striders and OTF Microtechs .... Good luck making a folder that can cut barbed wire fence ! We all just carried wire cutters for the miles of wire and cable in ceilings of office and highris...

Re: Demand and Supply of New Salt Series Knives?

I've cleaned most of my knives that way, even the non-Salt models without any corrosion issues. I'm not sure I want to pay more for a full Salt knife if I don't have the need. yeah but i mean all up in the guts too, like inside the locking mechanism and pivot. def shouldnt be cleaning that out with...

Firefighter is a broad field , wildland , structural , ems based ,airport and so on . I retired from a dept in NY, not ems based ,we didn’t transport nor was it our main thing call volume . About 30 years on a Truck co. half as a LT. I carried to many to recall over the years ,from Delicas ( first i...

A blue PE Delica . We flew to St. Louis to watch the Cards vs Cubs series ,and I shipped it to our hotel ahead of time , and when we checked out I mailed it back home . Only use carry on baggage , so it’s what i have to,do to have a knife on me when out of town . $3 each way .

Has anyone ever used Benchmade Blue Lube? It's the only thing I've used and seems to work pretty well. Interested in how it stacks up against the others from anybody with experience with it?
We tried it once , but the Mrs got a rash .

Got my first Spyderco in ‘91 a Delica , owned about idk 40 or 50 Spyderco’s since ,mostly good sized ones . Along with Striders , Benchmade ,Hinderers you name it ,but bigger was better . Got a Dragonfly just because the MLB ballpark we go to allowed small knives ,( my Delica was to big , but it was...
