Kobalt 8-in-1 TORX tool at Lowe's

Cheap and very handy, the bits are stored in the end cap. But the cap's a pain to get off.

ehh, sorry... think I bought New Graham's last one during the Xmas shopping season. Don't see it on their site anymore, but for reference, I paid about $59.

A friend, who I've shown a couple of my Spydies, said he didn't trust lockbacks. I've heard of not trusting liners, or slip-joints, but not that one. To note, I hadn't shown him my Manix, with the industrial lockback on it.

Jalapenos can be dangerous, but so can those fried onions on the burger... fried stuff just seems to irritate something inside for me. Now when the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich first came out, they overdid it a bit, and that was hot enough to be worth buying again (enough that it stuck on the menu...

hehe, CoPilot what other knife would ya pick! ;) Both knives were passed around quite a bit yesterday as gifts and packaging were opened; Dad seems to like his. Messing with the integrated lock left me wondering whether the Cricket would be a natural for a slipjoint-type closure in a future model, b...

thing is, you have to know who you're buying for. Dad carries one of those 'superknife' boxcutters. In the spirit of getting him a more 'social-looking' (NKP-friendly) knife, there are Crickets, Kiwis, Kopas, and the knife I ended up picking out, the Copilot. It's essentially the same size as my Cri...

I'm totally up for an orange Cricket, even if it's a shade thicker than the steel versions. Still a liner lock, right?

OTOH, a green... say, British Racing Green... Dodo would also be interesting. I love my FG Manix, but that color is for uses where looks come in last, I'd say.

Nice! My latest Spydie is the SE SS Cricket and it's EDC ever since I bought it. I wasn't sure about the etched scales though; am ok with the plain SS. Doing a search, seems the forum has a lot of it's own ideas for the 'next' Cricket, including... an orange FRN one? hehe, who knows...

The D'allara is the reason I hang around here... my first knife at Spyderco; bought because it was (and still is?!) on sale at the site here. Beautiful handle work, and if I didn't love mine already, I'd make that my 'ball-lock Mule' for mods, etc. The G-10 in the pics has kind of a 'rolled' finish....

heh, must be a seasonal thing... I just ordered from them for the first time yesterday. Am getting a Co-pilot for Dad, who carries one of those 'superknife' box cutters around all the time. He needs something a little more refined, I think. The Specials page did look enticing, but didn't have what w...

My avatar is a pic of my Native 3, and it's a good all around knife. FRN handles only, although I think there was a SS Native from sometime back. Different handle materials... look at the Spyderco catalog and retailer websites, there are dozens of possibilities. I'm thinking about the CF Sage, which...

looks good... didn't realize it would be a FF grind. Need to see the street price though... looks a lot higher than a comparable knife like the CF Sage.

some old tower users have cheaper service alternatives... for example my dad has me ;0 ... pays him back for my years of CS classes in college. But I must say that it's not just individual users; most every company I've worked at (and I work data center IT for a living) has their living-dead servers...

Looks like the main notch is too far forward just to make a integrated liner lock out of the existing Ti liner. Dunno, I just buy 'em ;) Question for Tony, can you tell us how the magnet is attached to the liner? I've had magnet-enabled tools before, like a multi-driver with interchangeable bits, wh...

I love that D2 metal stuck in the tree... and the DAllara pics. So few seem to take pics (or like?) the DAllara on here, but it was my first Spydie and I love it. Combo edge tho, not the plain edge seen here. What do you think of it?

Orange would be cool... I like the size of my Dragonfly better than the teenyweeny Ladybug, and that's the closest thing in orange.

As for steel, how many steels did the Dragonfly come in? Mine says 'AUS-8 STAINLESS' on it.

does the tip placement matter, at least within a certain tolerance? My FG Manix tip is noticeably (to me) off from center, but otherwise the knife's a rock and I wouldn't trade it in for anything.

I don't see anything that tells what kind of edge you bought... plain or combo-edge? My CE edition was sharp on the serrated portion but I felt like it needed a touch-up on the Sharpmaker at the front end. That might also be because it's my 'beater' spydie and I needed sharpening practice.

A fatty acid is a type of fat, and fatty acids are *very* weak acids. Fat is just short for fatty acid, as well as being the layman's term for fatty acid. Agent Starling yeah, but there's some other acidic component of olive oil that is mentioned when comparing the grades of oil. Didn't find a clea...
