Re: Where Artificial Intelligence Is Right Now
The Terminator series was just a precursor to what is going to happen. I'm glad I won't be here to see it.
I bet what will happen is AI will continue it's march toward becoming a huge part of every day life. In 2026 we just are not there, hardly anyone is using AI, but give it a few decades ...

Re: Realistic Passive income?
I retired at age 63. I'm 66 now. SSA does not pay enough to live on. I'm fortunate to have hooked up with a furniture restoration guy for the last 5.5 years. He has no plans to quit his business even though he will be 69 in a few months. We work well together and he pays me cash under the table ...

Re: What Type of Scales Do You Prefer Poll
All this love for FRN is going to make purchase a knife with it so I can see for myself...lol. Please, tell me it is nothing like the FRCP on my Manix 2 LW. :grimace
I can't say it's "nothing" like FRCP because they're both still a sort of plastic, but what I can say is Seki's FRN feels ...

Re: What Type of Scales Do You Prefer Poll
I'm a fan of Spyderco peel-ply G10 and G10 with the carbon fibre overlay. I have a PM 2 with the herring bone (brick layed) pattern G10 that I really like. I'm a big fan of Micarta... canvas and burlap. I'm a sucker for carbon fibre. I like titanium and aluminum if it's a textured or a blasted finsh ...

I'm going to get the Sage 6 in S90V when I can. I keep ordering knives in 15V because I know they will be no more.

FRN is grippy!

Re: Jeff Loffer from Cutlery Shoppe the new PM2 in REX 121
The machines do the work, having the right abrasives does alot. I had a gen3 Wicked Edge so I know what kind of effort went into that edge. Alot! It also takes a very keen eye. Which this person has.
The wicked edge is good but I moved on to machines that are better and abrasives that work better ...

Re: Heat Pumps vs Gas Furnaces
My boss has a heat pump. He lives in a neighborhood that was built in the 70's by one builder. The whole neighborhood is electric only, no natural gas. He doesn't mind the all electric until Winter. He says it just never feels warm in his house. He installed a wood burner and burns wood all Winter ...
